These are expensive, but so is visiting the physio and these seem to have really helped with my sciatica so I am very pleased. They are also built to last.

Only just purchased, but after a couple of days it feels supportive and requires no assembly just open and plonk on your chair/sofa.

I use this on my favourite chair at home and it has greatly improved my posture

Excellent. Useful for home

I have a dodgy back from years playing hockey (badly). I do a fair bit of driving for my work (40k+ miles per year) and tend to buy older/high mileage cars and drive them to the ground as it makes economical sense. Although modern car engines last forever these days, the same cannot be said about the driver seat. My choice was either to shell out several 100's or thousands of pounds getting younger cars, buy to SAABs/BMWs or buy this contraption...All I can say is that I am glad I chose the latter option (this is my second as my first one which I had for 3 years was stolen with the car recently), it is actually very comfortable to use although it will feel weird for few days and the higher seating position will take time to get used to, so think twice before ordering the double thickness version and you if you are already too tall for your car. I also used it on few intercontinental plane journeys, in my office and even in my siting room.It is a simple and elegant solution, exactly what I like and need...

The Backfriend did not suit the back problem, undoubtedly it would be okay for problems other than sacriolac joint problems.

This was recommended to us by a friend who has lived with back problems for years. He;s had HIS seat for about 20 years! My husband developed severe sciatica caused by a bulging disc and I also was experiencing an aching back especially as the seat in my car is well and truly past its sell by date. We've now got one each - it was the only support that helped him to sit comfortably, at home and in the car and we've both taken our seats to venues such as village halls, where seating can be very uncomfortable. They're easy to port, unobtrusive but goodness, they make SUCH a difference. Since buying ours, we've recommended them to other friends (even loaned ours out to try) and several people have bought them. A brilliant bit of kit!
