Q: I just received mine and it doesn’t seem to be working on any of the settings. Am I doing something wrong?

It’s difficult to know, but I can tell you how ours functions. We overwhelmingly use the water gauge setting. We insert the sensor into the soil at a reasonable depth to reach the plant’s roots. The needle on the gauge does move (sounds like yours does not?) to indicate if the soil is dry or hydrated at the root level for our zone (7). Based on the reading we either water or don’t, and, if we water, the needle moves to indicate the increased hydration. If your sensor needle isn’t moving, I’m thinking you need a replacement. We have found this sensor to be so handy as chronic over-waterers!
