DVD player for smart TV
Works very well. Good user guide and all the wires needed to connect to a smart TV. Very happy with the purchase.

Portable DVD player
So very easy and convenient for taking on vacation. We made good use of it and it's easy to use the components and remote. It's now being used in our bedroom.👍👍

Do you actually watch DVDs
I bought this for a person a generation older than me. There are these physical shiny discs that people keep in their physical possession. They prefer this arrangement. The physical disc holds just enough data to store one average length movie, therefore these people apparently own several discs - each with its own content. Well it turns out that you have to purchase a specialty device to decode this data and display output that can be viewed on a screen.OK that's where this device becomes relevant. It is fully capable of decoding these fragile and costly old-timey discs and displaying a movie or other content to a compatible screen. Now this "Mini DVD" player is indeed small as evidenced by the thumbnail image depicting a person holding it with just one hand. I can confirm that this is true to life. This will allow you to relocate or travel with the device with relative ease. This generally paints a picture of a device that functions well for its intended purpose.Do however note the following:The included remote works perfectly when a disc is physically resident in the machine. However, depending on placement, configuration and connection to the displaying device, you may be required to physically move your location to the device itself in order to remove a disc and then install a new one. In the case of a particularly long movie, you may not be able to watch that movie in its entirety without removing one disc and then inserting another disc which contains the second half of that movie. This will be odd and unintuitive to some but likely perfectly reasonable to the demographic that is familiar with this workflow. In summary, this device is well made, portable, and will likely please its purchasing demographic.

Works perfectly
a great little dvd player even plays zone 2 dvds.Looks a little weird with the software but it works perfectly! No issues at all and no DVD zone restrictions that I had with certain dvds.Definitely worth it.

Wrong aspect ratio
This DVD player will not output at the correct aspect ratio. The open and lower black bars are huge, and the image is squished flat. I verified this on 3 separate TVs, squished aspect ratio on all 3. I played the same DVD on a higher quality unit and the aspect ratio on the TV is as expected. I’m not sure where the positive reviews come from, but incorrect as per ratio is a deal breaker for any DVD player.

That is small and for the price is worth
It really is small as a sample and it works well. For the price it is worth buying.Easy to use.

It's OK.
I purchased this to use with a laptop and TVs. My fault, it doesn't actually claim that it works on laptops and doesn't, but be aware. No stars marked off for my stupidity.Pros: Size is great if you have little spaceUsing HDMI cord, picture is Good. Not 4K "great" so if you are particular about this, this is not for you. If you are old school and good with something that looks like the TVs show you watched in the past (think Gilligan's Island or Buffy the Vampire Slayer) without the drop outs, but still with the slightly grainy quality, it's good and accurate to the quality of the DVD. Newer DVDs are also of appropriate quality.I accidentally turned it sideways. Kept playing, no issues.Remembers where you stopped.Easy setup for HDMI.Plays discs I have with some heavy duties scrapes on them (purchased second hand). This is the ONLY DVD player that will play those discs. That alone makes it a keeper for me.Cons:Cannot find a way to adjust the picture size properly on the dvd player. It has Normal ps, Normal LB and 16:9. How about 4:3 for those really old DVDs in CRT size? The two "NORMAL" sizes don't fix the image. My non mini DVD players will fix that. Yes, I often have to adjust the size on the TV, too, but I can't make the picture size work with 2 of 4 TVs. My non mini DVD players work with all of them.Player makes a"ticking" sound as it plays. If you have sensitive hearing, it will drive you insane.Remote is "slow". You press the button and it waits a beat before anything happens. At least mine does that.Bottom line: Good enough for average dvd play if you aren't picky about perfect pictures and don't mind or can place it where the ticking sound won't bother you. Standard small DVD players which aren't that much bigger these days are better (my non mini is only 3 inches wider and two inches deeper). That is plays DVDs with scrapes that other DVD players won't means I will keep it, but if it hadn't done that I would have returned it. It's just OK, IMO.
