Q: Has anyone managed to collapse this properly after use? Struggling to get it compact and back in the bag

Once the soft box is flat place your hands at opposite corners, with one hand facing up and the other down, now twist your hands over to reverse their orientation and at the same time such the then together. The soft box will collapse down, but remain under the tension of the spring metal frame, so keep a firm grip on it. Once it is in its collapsed state put it in its case/bag keeping compressed until the bag is closed.

Q: Any idea where I can get the hinged arms as mentioned to be able to move the light around? I'm getting the 660 light and stand. Thanks

I assume you are referring to the tilt arms mentioned in a users review? If so then you may not need them as you can tilt the lights on the bracket they come with, but the soft box does limit the amount of tilt. Look for something like the Manfrotto 026 or similar type of tilt head

Q: will this work with the aputure amaran?

No Idea - it clearly states it is for Newer 660 which is what I use it with. "SPECIAL DESIGN FOR 660 LED LIGHT: This durable softbox with small size that can be attached to 660 LED panel light firmly to soften the harsh flash light and diminish the shadow on your object when in use"
