A viable alternative to live worms, and much more convenient
I've had good luck catching trout (and one catfish) with these Gulp Earthworms (brown). Whether or not they are better or as good as live worms is arguable. But they're good enough for me to swear off live worms. These are less messy, stay on a hook better, and are always available in my tackle box. Easy to pinch off a piece any length you want. A few caveats:1)These are sized like normal earthworms, definitely smaller diameter than night crawlers.2)They are kind of stiff with molded-in shape so they won't wiggle as freely as say a Berkeley trout worm. 3)They aren't very rubbery or stretchy. Fish can bite off a loose end waving in the water. Just not as easily as they can steal a real worm.4)Out of the jar they certainly do stink in a way that fish like. But I also add some ProCure night crawler gel scent, which I think makes them even more effective.

Good to keep on hand
Works well with small hook for pan fish.

Catfish Love These!
Berkley's Earthworms do work. I took them out for a test run at the local river, and these worms do haul-in many smaller catfish. I had to dock one star, because these worms are manufactured too thin to be used on regular hooks, while they do work fine on thin Aberdeen Snell hooks. It's a buy!

Small but effective
Pros: Fish love them. They go at it right away. They stink and have the right color to them. You can throw them in your tackle box/bag and bring them anywhere without worrying about drying out.Cons: They're very thin. Hard to get on a hook and rip off easily. You have to put them through the hook multiple times to stay on for multiple casts. If you aren't fishing for Bluegill you'll have to make sure there aren't any nearby, cause they'll easiliy pull these off. They need a thicker version. This would easily be 5 stars if they were thicker.

Easy catches
These are great and sunfish go after them almost immediately. The hard part is catching other types of fish with them because the sunfish go for them very quickly, they may work better for bass using a bigger hook or where there are less sunfish.

Disappointed
Did not get one bite with these ‘plastic’ worms at a lake in NJ.Disappointing.

PERFECT bait that worked like a charm
My son tried other kinds of bait and rarely got a bite at the pond by our house. We ordered these because he saw them on a video and he got a bite within the first 10 minutes! They are large enough for younger hands to be able to manipulate on the hook, they don't have an overpowering odor, and the screw top lid keeps them fresh. Very impressed
