This is a serial bus servo, so it doesn't work with a PWM signal like a lot of other servos. There is an adapter board available to control the servo with a computer via USB. It's quite strong and appears to be well made.

This is smaller than an XL430 but with a theoretical stall torque that's equivalent at 6v to that of an 11.1v XL430, at less than half the price! I'm still in the process of getting it set up, so will update if it doesn't meet its spec sheet, but that's pretty impressive. Another advantage over Dynamixel's servos is that these seem pretty easy to set up using a ready made arduino library. YOU DO NOT NEED THE SUGGESTED SERIAL CONTROL BOARD. This primarily finds use when connecting directly to a computer. This was my first attempt at a serial controlled servo and had a LOT of trouble getting it to just work. I ended up needing a dedicated control board just to use it with an MCU. But it is VERY torquey, and well protected. The mounting system works well.
