The Complete Dramatic Works of Samuel Beckett

It shows exactly how Beckett used to work and - due to the fact that I also have the "Beckett on Film" DVD - I could use it as the basis to learn more about Beckett and his view of things which is great. Very impressive.

Beckett dropped here from mercury. They cod on he's from Foxrock! He sucked up more than his share, leaving no juice for me. I blame him for my failures. I blame him for the extra hole I have to put in my belt leather. I haven't done a solid discharge in three years, even my excreta can't wait to be shot of me. Why did you have to be so whet Samuel? Why so precise? You could have left a small bit for me. Just a morsel. xx

I am pleased with this version which has all the important plays and beyond. It is refreshing to consider what is sometimes described as absurd theatre. This reflected how some Intellectuals felt after WWII but still relevent today. It is nice compact version which you can carry arround.

So far it has proved a useful and interesting collection, it is legible and robust enough for both reading and reference. I wouldn't expect it to survive particularly long in the hands of a particularly excitable owner, but until my funds allow the an upgrade to a more appropriate leather-bound edition, as the works deserve, it looks set to last as long as my studies require.

A thorough collection which could only have been enhanced by an introduction, maybe even to each play, I feel that context helps a lot in understanding these works, despite the calculated ambiguity in some of the settings.

great collection of plays, useful for uni students studying beckett, cheap and cheerful only problem might be it's studerness, t is a bulky book for something so small, pages will ware and tear I think after a few years
