Most effective stretches ever
This is an amazing book if you want to find freedom within your body. I have been doing yoga for 20 years and receiving myofascial massage as well. This book teaches you how to get the benefits of a massage by working on yourself through miraculous stretches. They are not easy and may take a while to learn, but it is well worth the effort. This book is gold and has changed my life.

Invaluable!
I am a neuromuscular therapist in New York City. A client of mine mentioned Ming Chew. I had been hearing about his remarkable talents for years and decided to meet him. This was about 6 months ago.Twenty odd years ago, Ming was N.Y.S. body building champion. Amongst other things, this is something that requires tremendous determination, dedication and a great deal of very hard work. Now, some twenty years later, Ming is a walking, talking, real life example of power, flexibility, grace and intelligence. I decided to read his book. What I found was the best, clearest, most simple, most concise guide to optimum health I had ever seen. I started by following his hydration plan immediately, and within two days realized improvements in how I felt. The more I pursued his instructions, the better and more energetic I felt. The book is chocked full of information about your body. It explains why you are doing things in the Ming method, and not just how. Ming wrote it in laymen’s terms, it is easy to understand and put into action. I saw the potential in it from my own personal experience and started buying copies and gave them to my clients, friends and family members, even in addition to wedding gifts to ones I love. In the last six months I have given out 140 copies to date, and will continue to give them to my clients and others. My clients who actually follow the Ming method seem to progress much more quickly than those who are using it as a doorstop or paperweight. They appear looser, happier, more energetic and overall healthier. The book is cheap, but the info is invaluable!Ming and I have become friends, I have great respect for him and this book he has so carefully, lovingly and painstakingly created. It is unique and a masterpiece. If you would like to be healthier, happier, stronger and much, much more resilient, get this book and use it in joyous health. He joked with me a few months ago; ‘I wrote this book to put us out of business” hmmmm – maybe he wasn’t joking.Arthur JaffeSpiraltechniques.com

Quick Posture Improvement and Pain Relief
Bought this because physical therapy did not work for my patellar tracking disorder, and I've thoracic area back pain for years. Used to have great posture, but years at a computer slumped it away - noticed almost immediate posture improvement from the Spinal Stretches and Upper- and mid-back routine. The improvement doesn't last for days, but I think if I use this regularly it will. Helped with my back and knee pain and relieved stiffness from a 15-hour road trip. Gave mine to a friend who said only one use made her Tennis Elbow pain go away. I'm back to buy another one for me and plan to use daily. The stretches are a bit complicated, so may audio record my favorite stretches for quicker sessions.

Great tips but exercises hard to master
I really wanted to be able to do all the exercises in this book but they are very detailed and it’s hard to read the directions then do them. I wish there were videos to help with this! The pointers on hydration and proteolytic enzymes have helped, so that makes it worth it. Please come out with exercise videos!!!

A must for golfers with back pain
The techniques described in this book are very detailed and take a good amount of practice to do. There are not easy, but yield good results. You must read how to do exercises and not just try then looking at the pictures, which help greatly BTW.I would consider this book to be for people who know good stretches and yoga to begin with and want to extend into something better albeit more difficult. You must also be persistent and not give up. The exercises do get easier fairly quickly, but you need to keep with them, use a timer, and don't cheat.I wished I'd been doing these exercises my entire life; they are that good. I play golf and have lower back issues. This has certainly helped with that and added a good deal of rotation in my back swing and follow through; more clubhead speed.Give it a try, all you have to lose is pain, and gain in flexibility!

The Permanent Pain Cure
I am still in the process of trying the stretches listed in the book, but after having been pretty much pain free for a good while due to stretches I learned from another book (The Genius of Flexibility), I tried the stretches for the lower back, which is where I have always had my issues. I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but my hip felt out of wack the next day. I decided to continue the stretches for a couple of more days thinking it would improve, but it didn't. I had to use my other stretches to get my back on track again. I must point out the reason we bought the book to begin with was for my son who has a lot of feet issues and the acupuncturist recommended this book. I just thought I would try out some of the fascial stretching since I had not done that type before. Maybe my back is just weird, but I'm not sure these are going to benefit me. I am waiting for about a month then I will try them again (the lower back stretches) to see if I get the same results. If I do, I will not use those stretches anymore. I was already basically following his preparation before starting stretches regime, so that was not my problem. The information in the book seems very good, but my experience of back pain after doing the stretches has made me a little suspect.

This is legit: got me off opioids for pain
I'm a skeptic; I've dealt with terrible chronic pain for 5 years now, a combination of problems resulting from joint hypermobility and complications from surgery. I've been taking opioids for a year and a half (low dose oxycontin extended release, which I take day and night), and felt I was desperate enough to change my quality of life to be willing to give this program a try. I was really nervous about cutting out painkillers and muscle relaxants as Ming recommends, and also dubious about the supplements (which are pricey). The stretches make a lot of anatomical sense, though, and I figured I would give the full program a try. Holy crap you guys. I got a dreadful bout of enzyme flu (he mentions this is possible), but after 3 days suddenly I woke up without much pain. Certainly felt ok with skipping my daytime dose of oxycontin, which, on the rare occasions I've done so before to "check in" on my pain levels, has resulted in me lying on the couch all day in agony. I skipped the painkillers, and what's more, I went to the gym where I worked out hard for 50 minutes. WITHOUT PAINKILLERS. I'm feeling it a bit more today, but not enough to warrant the painkillers. We will see how this progresses for me, but this might just be my miracle lifesaver. I strongly recommend anybody with chronic pain gives this a try. Do note, if you have EDS or other hypermobility conditions, to be careful not to overstretch the joints -- I subluxed my shoulders and it hurt like hell for a couple days.
