I bought this for the value. I needed the tool, and this kit gave me the most connectors along with it for my money. The crimper is well made, easy to use, and the connections have so far been reliable.As a newbie to solar installation, there was one omission that took me many google and Youtube searches to learn: Which connector body, with which contact insert, goes on which cable???I don't have the crib sheet I created in front of me, so I'm hesitant to document it here. What I remember is that the housings have a small '+' or '-' molded into them. These are assigned from the PANEL's perspective, not the battery or controller's. A MALE body gets a FEMALE contact, and vice-versa. I wish the kit included a pin extractor tool and some extra contact inserts, as I now have some useless mis-assembled connectors. Sigh.The people who sell extension cable sets package them in red/black pairs. Ignore the colors, as each wire gets a + connector on one end, and a - connector on the other. When you're connecting panels in series, you end up connecting red wires to black all the time, there's no way to avoid it.

Works as expected
My Kit did exactley what I expected it to do. Instructions would have been nice, but after a few you tube videos I was ready to make my connections. My crimps were tight and appear to be waterproof. If the wrong gauge wire is used I can see where it wouldn't be waterproof, as others have staited. My crimper worked perfectly but you need to ensure you fully compress the tool for it to release. However theiris a release lever if you need to release the tool to readjust before making the final crimp. I've yet noticed any voltage issues with my connections and will update if I find any.

Good Kit.
Installing some old solar panels on my motorhome. I had dirty MC3 connectors. This kit worked great to upgrade the connectors and test panels.
