Q: Is this tubing heat resistent

This tube is about 1/16 inch thick plastic. It's sturdy, at about 1 and 1/4 inch diameter. I wouldn't put it into boiling water. This isn't designed for high temperatures such as boiling water.

Q: Will 5/16 id tubing work with this auto-siphon? says it needs 7/16 id tube but i cant find any.

That is a great question. No, you definitely can not use 5/16 ID tubing with the 1/2in auto-siphon. Q: Will this be too big for a one gallon jar? I'm making kombucha and need to bottle, and don't want the mini auto-siphon.

Thank you for your inquiry. The fermtech large auto siphon is too large in diameter for the opening of most one gallon jugs.

Q: Is the long enough to reach to the bottom of a 5 gallon glass carboy?

The large one that I got was large enough for one gallon easily. Two gallons would be a push.
