Advertised as holding 15.5kg, I fitted a 15kg bag of Dr John in, still in the bag, but had to empty the bag of James Wellbeloved into one and could only fit in about 13.5kg. However they are very sturdy so I hope no more mice will get into the food as they are stored outside. They are a good price.

I use these for my cat and fish food. They work well for the money but the top isn't a tight fit. There is a rubber seal between the black lid and green top but there isn't a seal between the top and the rest of the body, and the injection moulded latches between the body and top aren't strong without a bit of bodging. That being said for the money it's decent and you can make it better as below.To fix the lid/body issue I boiled a kettle and poured the scalding water around the short sides of the black body, then pressed them outwards and cooled with cold water. This just makes the top a little wider providing much stronger contact with the lid, though still not airtight. When the cat food runs out I might consider using some silicone to provide an airtight seal.I'd like to see the manufacturer provide a tighter fit between the top and base, and potentially either make a gasket connection like the lid, or add an option with some plastic cement for those who wish to do it themselves.

These storage bins are great - for indoor use. They have recessed lids that fill with, and let in water if left outside.

I expect it is the best for the price. I may be a bit mean taking off a star. I did it because I had trouble getting the top on. That's the bit where the green bit sits over the black bin, not the lid. I bought two so they were packed together, the second with the top off. If I hadn't had the first one to look at to see how the top went on I would have been stuck. I'm not sure it is really air-tight, but, again for the price, I think it will protect my pack's food long enough before they've munched their way through it! The little scoop, placed on sliders under the lid, is a handy addition.

Just received these today. Here's my thoughts: the lids are easy to get on and off. The top latch however needs a little force to get to latch. I have two dogs that require different foods. My senior dogs 15kg bag fits in fine as the kibble is smaller. My younger dogs 12kg comes up to the top of the container with no room to spare, the kibble is quite large. So keep that in mind when buying. Took one star off as it seems pretty flimsy. Overall, it works for what I need it to and we'll see over time how it stands up to regular use.

The storage containers were not as sturdy as I expected. The lids do not fit to a tight secure seal.

Like that they have a scoop that slots on the inside of the lid. They aren't very sturdy, but as long as your not stacking anything on top then they're fine. Had a strange smell when opened, so left the seed in it's bag within the storage box.

These either don't fit 15.5kg or my bag of dog food was lying. But it doesn't bother me too much as I bought 3, 2 for dog food 1 for rabbit food as mice got into our shed and ripped the bags open for a feast. The food is now secure and looks much neater. Will be buying more for hay and cat food as I buy in bulk
