Sequence Rummy Challenge Cards

As a mom of a child with special needs, these cards are perfect to help my daughter start sequencing pictures. The cards are beautiful - very clear pictures with simple scenes and sequences. They also include many everyday activities, which means that my daughter can relate to and easily understand the sequence (such as brushing teeth, blowing bubbles, baking cookies). The sentences in the back of the cards are well done too. Very pleased with this purchase.

My now 4-year old has been in speech therapy for almost two year now. He had some physical impediments (enlarged adenoids accounting for a 40% loss in audition; plus a frenulum). This was corrected with surgery about a month ago but anyhow therapy. His latest therapist, who identified the frenulum and has been with him for the last six months, uses these cards with him during therapy and suggest me to buy them to practice at home, three to five sequences at a time.The idea is for me to read each card and make him repeat what I say. Since the three cards repeat some words, this allows him to work with certain fonemas that are difficult as well as to practice how to properly say short sentences. This is valid for people who speak other languages too. My son only speaks Spanish. I choose the sequences that have words that when translated to spanish have the fonemas that we need to work as instructed by his therapist, I translate the phrase and we’re ok.

These cards were perfect entertainment in the airplane. My almost 3 years old enjoyed the pictures and quickly realized what she needed to do to put the cards in the correct order. My almost 8 years old liked the wording on the back of the cards. The text is easy to read and easy to understand. She put the cards in the correct order wouldn’t looking at the images just by reading the sentences. Love that there are a lot of sequences in this deck. Great gift for 2-6 years old kids.

These sequence cards are useful however, some of these sequence photos can be tricky. As you will see from the photo, those three sets can happen in several combination orders. I thought it was straight forward, but my 4 year old daughter showed me the other possibilities by being adamant about her sequence answer. I wish that the sequence set came with illustrations of more everyday life steps that children actually experience. I feel that it would be the best way to teach sequencing as well as being most relatable which makes it easier for them to learn. As an adult, we can figure out the order based on the words on the back, but there are a few that had generic sentences which made it challenging to figure out the order. Luckily, I was able to figure out that the last two numbers on the bottom of the back of the card dictates the proper order. Other than that, they're simple enough for children and it gets the job done.

These are just as good as any other sequencing products I've owned, for a very good price. Sure, they are not as sturdy as the thicker cardboard/puzzle sets, but the material is of decent quality, the picture scenes are great, and it's definitely worth the price.

I bought this to teach sequencing to my toddler. While he won't understand all of the sequences, there are enough to get him going and add on as he advances. I'll likely laminate them but they're not flimsy. But in my toddler's hands, they probably won't last long. The pictures are large and bright and easy to understand. That's what I was hoping for. If you use it as it's meant to be used...as a game of rummy...I can see that being a lot of fun for little ones. I'm happy with the purchase.

Try to get kiddo to put the stories together but if was a bit of challenge for her. A 4 year old will need quite a bit of scaffolding to get the hang of this. Very beautiful Ardsley too

As a speech and language learning support assistant working in a primary school I am always looking for new resources to make learning fun and these looked excellent. On purchasing I have found them to be just as advertised and for my purposes or domestic use are perfect. Due to the huge amount of use these will be getting I will be laminating these cards to ensure they stay serviceable for many years but thus would ot be needed at home as they are made of quality cardboard.
