Q: One of the reviews says the display is not led. it says, "it's basically some white light behind a red plastic screen." is that true?

If you still doubt this, you can send an e-mail to us at joanna@shenzhenkwanwa.com, then we can send some pictures to you, and you will find all ligths behind the screen are RED LED LIGHTS..... and yes, the plastic screen is red (light red) as well, which can make the light looks like softer.

Q: instruction manual online?

I couldn't find a manual online, but don't know why you would need one. It comes with instructions, but is pretty simple to operate. There are only 4 buttons. Press the "Time Set" button and then the "Hour" or "Minute" button to change time and then the "Time Set" button again. Same thing to change the alarm by pressing the "Al Set" button. To turn the alarm on or off just press "Al On/Off". Pretty simple and all buttons are clearly labeled. Hope this helps. I'm very satisfied with the clock.
