Easy to use, and picture quality is amazing
Years ago I purchased an expensive Sony camera and had issues with it right away. It was complicated to figure out and sat on my shelf untouched for 5 years. I didn’t like the picture quality and felt like I could never get clear photos and the color was not great. So I’ve Been using my smartphone for years but finally decided to try another camera. After watching 1000 YouTube videos finally decided on the Canon r50 because I wanted something I could use for videos, vlogging, and also for photography. This was my first time using it, and I got amazing pictures right off the bat. My love for photography is rekindled, with no stress added! The camera uses AI for the autofocus and automatically blurs the background and focuses on subjects in your frame. That was important to me because I take a lot of close up pictures .The kit lens is taking amazing photos and is good for close up photography. I thought (after watching numerous YouTube videos) that the kit lens was “trash” and I’d need to immediately buy another lens but I am pleasantly surprised on the quality of pictures I’m getting from it!All of the different modes are easy to use and fun to experiment with. The colors on the camera are amazing and it’s easy to transfer the pictures to your phone via Bluetooth. You will need to buy an SD card right Away, and I also purchased a screen protector so I don’t worry about touching the screen. It was definitely worth the I vestment for me and a huge upgrade from my smartphone.

A hopefully sound review of an amazing camera
Amazing quality, extremely lightweight, it's the perfect size for on the go use, and overall manages to exceed any possible worries when buying a camera. If you want a good camera and don't want to spend thousands on just the body, this camera is for you. I'm a fan of film, and I'd bought a different camera only to realize that it wasn't what I needed and then sprung for this one. I now have two separate lenses that accomplish the same goal at different distances, and this camera is absolutely stellar at recording, making it not just ideal, but a necessity for anyone who wants a quality picture. If you want good lens options, go with either the, "Canon RF16mm F2.8 STM Lens" or the "Canon RF35mm F1.8". Both are extremely amazing to pair with this, just make sure to buy a second battery (Canon Battery Pack LP-E17)(Image is a little blurry due to motion, the quality is top tier, you can see every hair on a person's face during photo mode)

Fantastic on the go or starter camera
Absolutely love this little camera. I was tired of using my bulky dslr for on the go videos and this was a perfect alternative. Quality is good enough for the price. Autofocus is fantastic as usual with a canon. Feels good in the hand and it’s durable enough to be on the go. I don’t recommend dropping it though haha. Great little camera

Great camera for still shots or video for the entry user or as a 2nd or 3rd platform
Does video very well for the price, provided that you have a fast enough SD card. The lens is so-so that comes with the boxed kit, it is OK but doesn't excel but is a decent lens to get acquainted to the camera with. Look to expand your lens collection bade Don your needs, but the body of the camera is very compact compared to traditional DSLR body sizes. The shotgun mic is pretty decent for a beginner but will likely be forgotten once a user grows their ability. Same with the grip, other options will likely be better platforms as someone is more comfortable with the camera and needs to expand to meet their needs.Extra batteries will likely be a requirement or otherwise look into compact filming platform battery systems.

Guess I'm a canon girl
This is my first camera and I'm absolutely in love, it is sturdy, the battery lasts just long enough for an extended photoshoot (more than 5 hours) Wich is enough for me. I love taking self portraits with this one as it has this amazing autofocus and color science. The interface is fast and intuitive, for someone that's just learning how to take pictures is perfect as the easy use just motivates me more just to point and shoot. And the app it comes with is just amazing to take self portraits as you can see everything your camera is seeing with your phone and shoot from the distance. I'm in love and I feel I got way more than I paid for. Value for money 10/10

Begginer friendly!
I'm a a straight newbie to photography and this camera is honestly a really good pick for a beginner! I did weeks of research to see what camera I wanted for the specs I was looking for. I mainly wanted something decently good in low light and something for mainly portrait photography and this fits both. It's extremely light weight (also depends on your lens- but I opted for a 50mm), controls are easy enough to understand plus you just gotta play around with it till your comfortable. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it to people wanting to dip their toes into photography
