Great quality product!
Used the same model last week in a VRBO. We liked it so much that I ordered one right away. Easy to use and maintain. So handy to be able to make an entire pot or a single pod of coffee. We currently have a Cuisinart single cup brewer and have been very happy with the quality and reliability. I look forward to the same with this more versatile brewer.

Do not buy!
We enjoy the craft side of this coffee machine. We have had major issues with the pod side. Each time we use it, since the first time, it overflows and grounds get all in the cup of coffee and also all in and around the machine. It is a pain to clean the grounds out of the machine because no parts come out to clean, you just have to wipe inside and around until all the grounds are gone, this is very time consuming. Also when I contacted Cuisinart customer service I do not think their return policy is fair. They want me to cut the cord to the machine, take a picture of this, send back the machine and then wait 2 weeks for the replacement, therefore we would be without a coffee pot for two weeks because they sell a faulty product? If I have to go out and get a new coffee pot I’m going to buy a new one and not waste 200$ on one that doesn’t work well. I asked if they could charge me for the new one, ship it and then refund me when they get my broken one back, so we can use the craft side in the mean time, so we don’t have to be without one. They told me no, and I will have to go without and wait for the replacement. Seems strange, I asked why they operate this way and they responded, “we have alot of fraud and don’t trust customers to return the products”. Well welcome to the world, everyone deals with fraud, unfortunately part of owning a company is making the customer happy and standing behind your product. Very disappointed in this company and the product quality. Do not buy this machine!

Coffee Maker - single cup or pot
Works great and quickly gives you a good cup of coffee or you can make a full or partial pot.

Dead on arrival BUT....
The carafe part works the Kcup part does not. It's Saturday and it will be returned. Edit I ended up calling Cuisinart tech support on a Saturday morning, and lo and behold they answered. Well when I describe the problem the customer service rep knew exactly what the issue was. Evidently in the pod section there is a little button that you have to cycle about three or four times. You do that after you open and close the lid about six times. So order events is open and close the lid to the K-Cup area about six times. If that doesn't fix it there's the little button underneath the lid of the K-Cup area that you press in about 3 to 4 times. I will no longer be returning this it seems like it is functioning appropriately. The CSR Tech did say that if the pods weren't used for a while that you may have to do that it builds up pressure in the line. Hope that this helps other people not get as frustrated as me.

Only if you like grounds in your coffee
WASTE OF MONEY! Don't bother with this machine, you'll only end up tossing it out the window in a month. Regular pot side works fine, but the coffee pod side is terrible. First the little button inside (that tells the machine it's closed) wasn't being pressed down enough so it always signaled the latch was open. Wouldn't brew unless you keep a hand on top, applying slight pressure. I glued in a rubber foot, which solved that problem without affecting any other functionality of the machine. Second major issue is the coffee pods exploding. Randomly, yet frequently, those little plastic cups just bust right open sending coffee grounds into every nook and cranny of the internal space in the machine. There's basically no way to clean all of it out, so any future cup of coffee that is successful will still have grounds in it. Reached out to customer service ...they say it's the needle that needs cleaning. Cleaned (unclogged) the needle. Cleaned it again, to be sure. Next pod used was fine. Pod after that exploded. Cleaned the whole machine again. Needle wasn't clogged at all, but I cleaned it twice anyway just to be sure. Next pod exploded. I give up. Won't even try to sell/give this away to my enemies!

Much better than SS-15
I bought the SS-16 to replace a 5 year old SS-15 model. This unit has improved upon some of the negative features of the older model. Here are the improvements: 1. Older model would splash all over counter when brewing single serve unless you used a tall travel mug. This model has a flip shelf so that you can use shorter mugs without making a mess or having to hold the cup close to the dispenser while brewing. 2. This model has the single serve and regular brew sides reversed. This allows you to pour water into the regular brew side much easier since the larger reservoir opening is on the right side of the machine. On the older model, the larger opening was just to the left of the single serve side making it difficult to pour the water in the reservoir. 3. The needle which punctures the k-cup is cone shaped on the newer model with the water opening toward the back of the needle. On the older model, the needle was a small metal cylinder with a hole in the center. The older model would sometimes split the k-cup and cause the grinds to back up in the unit and make a mess. Hopefully, the design of the newer model has fixed that problem. To date, I have not had a k-cup explosion. This remains to be seen. Overall, I like the fact that I can brew a regular pot of coffee or make a single cup using one machine. I like the fact that I am not forced to make a specific number of cups of coffee on the regular brew side. Many combo machines retain water in an internal reservoir and force the user to make a specified number of cups. This machine does not retain any water after brewing. On the regular serve side, you brew as much coffee as there is water in the reservoir. On the single serve side, the water reservoir is removable, so it can be emptied when not in use. Most Keurig machines retain water in an internal reservoir which seems like it can be a breeding ground for mold due to the stagnant water in the machine. I make a full pot of coffee almost every day, and if not, I’ll have a few k-cups instead. I hope I can get 5 years of daily usage out of this machine.

Great purchase
I've been using this for about a month and I am happy so far. The carafe is big if we need to make a lot of coffee. But having the option of making one cup only is great, that is the side we use most. The built in filters that comes with each side saves me money from not needing to buy filters and I get to use the same coffee for both sides. No need to buy individual pods, which can add up $$. The water reservoir holds enough for multiple cups and is easy to detach so you can fill it. The instructions are easy to read. The display is very nice and modern. It makes hot and cold coffee and we use both options. The one thing I did not account for is the height of the machine. My cabinet on top does not allow me to fully open the lid on the right side. The machine is too tall and I do not have enough space between the top and bottom cabinets. That was my fault though, as I should have measured. I recommend measuring your space before you buy. You will need about a foot of space between the top of the machine and the top cabinet to fully lift the lid up. This is only an issue for the side of the carafe not the single cup that takes pods. That side works fine as it is a smaller lid that does not take up as much space. That is the only inconvenience I have with this machine. But it is not a reason for me to return it. I feel like happy with this purchase and have gotten compliments on it from family members who visit.
