This 100g soap bar came nicely packaged in a cardboard box and wrapped in pleated tissue paper with a branded sticker keeping it in place. The soap has the branding embossed into the soap and is evidently a premium luxury product which is obvious from the powerful fragrance that you can smell even outside the Amazon packaging! The packaging is eco-friendly and each soap promises to deliver 100 uses although I would suggest you ensure the soap remains as dry as possible when not in use to ensure longevity. The soap takes 80 hours to create each bar using a plant-based cleansing formula, so I can understand that this artisanal soap has a premium price point especially as the soap uses 97% of its ingredients from natural origins. This rose scented soap lathers well and is very fragrant due to the inclusion of parfum which does lightly fragrance your skin for a good amount of time afterwards. Although the rose not my favourite scent in the range (I’ve tested a few other fragrances) if you love roses this will be perfect for you as the scent really carries – it’s almost like a diffuser if you have a small bathroom! The rose doesn’t smell artificial at all. Made in France and priced at £5.56 at the time of reviewing, the soap is a bit of a luxury product but I do feel like it is worth the money when you consider the time that goes into production and the longevity and strength of the fragrance.

Scent is not very rose like. It is highly perfumed and pretty, but disappointing due to not being particularly rose scented.

The soap is a lovely scent and fragrance, Rose Petals. Nice soapy wash and feel fresh after using it. The large 100g bar comes with an outer small box and makes a very lovely gift for people who fondly like Rose Soaps I think this brings back fond memories from visiting relatives years ago, but I still think it is a lovely scented bar, like a real garden rose smell etc. A premium brand and at £5.60+ is expensive fro a single bar though i expect it to be if it is premium etc.

No rose smell at all

We've all heard of Roger & Gallet, and if we haven't, then we've probably smelled it when our mums, aunts or grannies used it. They're timeless classics. The scent here is, as you'd expect, rose. But this doesn't smell artificial, it has the heady scent of old roses - the type you get in cottage gardens where the roses are there for their scent rather than their looks alone, it's lovely. It might seem overpowering at first, but it really isn't - it fades to a subtle, lingering, feminine scent. The packaging claims you'll get 100 uses from this bar, which sounds reasonable to me. R&G may be a traditional company (founded 1862) but have come bang up to date with their reduced packaging which is recyclable. The packaging is also modern and fresh, and there are admirably few ingredients, 97% of which are 'natural origin'. I like it a lot. At £5.56 for a 100g bar (as at 26 July 2023) I think this is affordable luxury and would stand up on its own, but used with the rose shower/bath cream you'll get a luxurious experience at an un-luxurious price. Would recommend.

I recently tried a few fragrances by this brand including the perfume version of this soap so I was looking forward to trying it. The soap comes wrapped in tissue paper and then in a pretty cardboard box so no plastic. I also got this soap in another variety where it is sold in a pack of 3 so I am now fully stocked up of this gorgeous perfumed soap. The soap smells absolutely gorgeous, so fresh and floral. The texture is creamy and it just feels good for your skin. It leaves a very enjoyable and beautiful smell on your skin that lasts for ages. It really does leave my skin very soft and moisturized. It also gets you very clean without stripping the oils from your skin. Definitely recommend this to treat a loved one or just for yourself. Beautiful soap. Well worth the price.

savon doux et sentant bon la rose

I love this soap…it makes the bathroom smell so good when you’re showering. The smell doesn’t linger on your skin for long (at least I hadn’t noticed) but it’s still makes for a nice experience. I pair this with thr Miss Dior body cream and Parfums de Marly’s Delina. Super rosy and pretty smelling.

Not fragrant.
