These are good for extra door security. I used these for my back door and seems to be pretty sturdy. It was easy to install and functions well.

I have a smart lock, and I wanted another level of security when I am in my condo. Instead of an ugly latch or dated hook and chain, I saw this sleek security latch and was intrigued. It was easy to install, and it just slides over to prevent anyone from getting through the door. It is easy to release the latch you just pinch the top and bottom and pull it back. It looks very nice and functions well providing me with enhanced security and peace of mind.

We have been using this lock for months and we love it! It was easy to install. You need a drill and a pencil. We got this because our toddler was opening the front door and making a run for it. I installed the lock at the top of the door jamb so he cannot reach it and it works wonders. I also like that it adds some extra security to our front door. This was a great buy!

Great value. Easy way to add more protection to our home, kids have learned how to use it. But you can always install higher if you need to keep kids or elderly from going out the front door!

Swing in doors. Flat frames, same plane as the door. First, go to the hardware store and get some quality steel, #8 Phillips, good brand, flat head wood screws, I needed 2 inch for my door frame.You need some space between the door and the frame for the tongue of this lock. If no space you'll need to mortise it out with a wood chisel. Look before ordering.If space, about 1/16 to 3/32. With door and this lock closed, slide it in the crack between door and frame and mark with a pencil on the door side with an eye to mount later in same position.Open lock, open door, holding lock in place. Mark slotted hole with Phillips screw, you need a screwdriver, or reversible portable drill with P2 bit preferable.Hold and match pencil mark to eyeball mark if it moved much. Or do over.Install a wood screw in slotted hole in center just right enough to allow later adjustment, screw it in to just loosely snug but movable a little.Flip lock lever back, close door, flip lock into locked position and make sure it snaps into place easily. Adjust as necessary for easy fit and use and that it's locked in position.Make sure it doesn't move, open door, tighten center slot screw, insert and install other screws.Ours is extremely low use door, with original 1980 crappy lock. The wind can blow it open.If this holds up and the springs don't break, shouldn't, we don't open the door. Many reviews claim crappy springs across various brands of this same device and that they fail with use. We installed this when my little guy learned how to unlock the front door and walk outside on his own. This works well. We installed it high enough to where he can't reach it. Works great. It also works well as a lock. It doesn't leave a mark on the door and was easy to install

So easy to install. Easy-to-use and super strong construction. Every door should have one or two of these.
