Honestly the best camera out there for beyond your basic consumer functionality
I bought this camera as I didn't want a ring or blink doorbell camera. I wanted something that I could get a 24/7 RTSP stream from, and it was WiFi and worked off my existing doorbell transformer. Well, hello baby, this is exactly what this thing does! It has a full web interface, and you log in and enable RTSP once you enable the web interface from the app. I stream RTSP to Frigate and stream that to Home Assistant with LLM vision to ChatGPT for video stream analysis. ReoLink even does local push to Home Assistant, and it's perfect. This is one of the best integrations for my house. The worst thing was the camera body was too wide for my door frame and that required modification, which was a me problem and not a Reolink problem.

REOLINK is easy to use.
Easy hookup. Watch a YouTube video or read the directions if you need help on the install. Used the hardwire option with my existing doorbell power supply over wifi connection for viewing and a microSD card for storage.Read the descriptions and special instructions before purchasing any REOLink product. They are all different with how they manage storage or let you view remotely. Some require the HUB Some do not, some can be viewed from the APP some you have to pull down the camera and pull the SD card.I have a couple solar reolink's, hard wired cameras reolink's, and indoor/outdoor wifi plug-ins reolink's. All are a little different, but they all work. Just be mindful of the solar camera's not working in cold environments...

REOLINK Video Doorbell WiFi Camera
I’ve been using this doorbell camera for close to six months now, and I wanted to give it time to mature through firmware updates and real-world use before writing a proper review. Like many others, I bought this doorbell camera to escape the ongoing subscription fees of my previous one. With a few years of physical security experience, I took interest when I saw this model from an established security camera brand. When I first bought it, I returned the initial unit due to two main issues: the day/night threshold behavior and a motion loop problem related to porch light automation.Issue 1: Day/Night ThresholdI set the camera to switch to black and white (IR mode) at night, which it did. However, after sunrise, it stayed in black and white well into daylight, even after adjusting the threshold settings. The only workaround was to manually set the mode to "Color" instead of "Auto."Issue 2: Motion Loop with Porch Light AutomationMy previous doorbell camera effectively triggered the porch light when motion was detected, then turned it off after motion stopped. With this camera, turning on the porch light caused it to switch from black and white to color, which it interpreted as a new motion event. When the light turned off and the camera switched back to black and white, it again detected motion. This created a continuous loop of alerts that lasted until the next day—something I only caught by reviewing the footage.Reolink's support team was quick to respond and sent me a replacement. While the second unit still had minor issues, they were more manageable. I kept it because of the overall value—especially no subscription fees, great video quality, and remote encrypted video storage via the Home Hub.After a few firmware updates, I was happy to see that the threshold issue was resolved. New features like HDR and pet detection have also been added. What I Like:Encrypted remote storage via Home Hub means footage is secure even if the doorbell is stolenSolid motion/video settings and features for a consumer-grade deviceIntegrated video into Apple Home using Home AssistantAbove-average video quality, both day and nightPlayback filters let you search by event type (motion, person, vehicle), and unfiltered views include icons for each event so you can jump directly to the video event you are most interested in seeing. What I Don’t Like:Camera sharing via Home Hub is limited to 3 years (as of now)Chime volume doesn’t revert to the set level after a power outageNo option to upload or customize alerts/chime sounds—most built-in ones are too long especially if you need a short "ding" to signify a detectionDay/night transitions still trigger false motion eventsOverall, despite a few quirks, the camera has improved over time and provides excellent value—especially for users looking to avoid subscription fees.

Surpassed my expectations
Wow! I had been looking at doorbell cameras for awhile and decided on Reolink after reading reviews. Great price and great quality. Installation was fast and easy, I was able to use the existing doorbell wiring and DC power in my older home and things set up in a little over 1 hour. The documentation was excellent and their on-line support pages are great. There are several ways to access the camera, Reolink app for PC/Mac (sorry, no Linux yet) and phone apps for Android and iPhone. Direct web browser access works also. There are several differences between the apps depending on which you are using, but overall very easy and intuitive.Setting up the camera and recording is straightforward but you may need to spend a little time tweaking it for your preferences, there are plenty of options without being too overwhelming.Picture quality is adjustable and pretty good overall.Pros:Great documentation and on-line resourcesEasy installationNo batteries or rechargingMultiple easy to use apps to view the cameraCamera can be viewed away from home with the apps (PC and phone)Optional (128G recommended) Micro SD card for video storageNO CLOUD!Email alertsCons:*No Linux support (you can view through a web browser)Notes: Not pro or con, there is a good mix of features for the price so I feel this is a great value. If you are fairly tech savvy this camera is definitely for you. The documentation is excellent so answers to questions and problems are easily available.
