Q: Can I put it directly on the sofa couch platform or do I need an interface between the mattress and the springs in the fold out couch?

I threw away my old mattress with springs and set the new mattress on top of the bars. I tried it out and couldn't feel the bars underneath at all. Folds back in as usual. I bought a mattress support board to put under my old mattress. It helped, but it doesn't fold up with the mattress. You have to remove it and store it. I'm keeping it in case I have a guest that wants a harder mattress, or if this memory foam one eventually wears out. So far I'm extremely happy with this mattress.

Q: Does this come with the couch plus the pull out bed?

No. You need couch that already has the bed to pull out feature
