Love it
Like all Morris books there are so many clever observations and personal takes but given his incredible output, erudition and academic background I trust his judgement. Not one for the "science-is-subjective" and there are "no objective truths" school of modern politicized science teaching that another great, Steven Pinker, is fond of skewering.

Great book which adds to the original. But lacks vigour
Peoplewatching: is a fascinating and insightful book that dives deep into the nuances of body language across different cultures. What I appreciated most about this book was the addition of body language imagery and sign language diagrams, which really helped me absorb the information through visuals, making the content much more engaging and easier to understand. The book introduced me to the basics of body language that many might be familiar with but also provides new insights into how we communicate non-verbally, both intentionally and through subconscious 'leakage.' It really is quite fascinating. While it's an extended edition of Manwatching, it does lose some of the impact without the original photographs. However, it’s still a great read for anyone interested in understanding the subtle signals we all send, whether we're aware of them or not.. plus it’s really fun to sit in a cafe and see it in actions, with everyone around you.

Fascinating book to dip in and out of.
Arrived promptly and in good condition. Very interesting (and entertaining) read - as you would expect from Desmond Morris. Since his earlier book in the 70s, we all have a good idea about body language but this book gives lots of insights into not only our own, but other cultures' body language and signals. Great to dip in and out of.

Amazing book on human behaviour
A formidable book on human behaviour. So well researched and explained. A most interesting work to help understand your own species. A must read at some time in your life, It should definetely form part of your home library. If you are interested in understanding what others do and why you should read it.

Poor style
I've read this edition first, which was enjoyable , but then I saw the earlier edition in a second hand book shop. I was amazed by the contrast because the earlier edition was thoroughly illustrated with photographs, which made it very appealing and attractive. This edition have a short section of pictures attached in the middle, but sketch drawing used throughout to illustrate, which I find it rather dry to reading. I brought the earlier edition too as a result.

Updated classic
Have the original Manwatching and wanted to see the updated version - rather thick for a paperback would have been better a larger format as the original but looking forward to reading all over again - some of the photos have clearly been re used from the 70s !
