The best backpack-style child carrier
I love this backpack child carrier! I have a 2-year-old son who is around 34lbs & 38" tall and this carrier works great. The straps help keep the weight off my back and redistribute it to my hips, and the carrier itself is VERY light. It folds up nicely and comes with a sun/rain shade for your child too. The carrier is very adjustable, so spend a little bit of time making it fit just right for your specific child and their particular size in order to make it fight right and give them the best ride & view.Pro tip: if you've ever been in the military or done serious backpacking training you are probably familiar with how to properly load a backpack onto your back once you put it on so that it takes as much weight as possible off your back and puts it on your hips. If not, then all you need to do is place your child in the backpack AND SECURE THEM WITH THEIR BUCKLES & STRAPS, slip the shoulder straps on, buckle the chest and waist straps, then lean forward as far as you can without losing your balance and pull the shoulder straps as tightly as you can. Tighten the waist strap and chest strap snugly and you're good to go- just be careful and wary of your surroundings so you don't lean too far forward and fall over or hit anything. It's especially helpful to have a "spotter" or helper while you adjust the pack and shoulder straps. As adjusted, I've had this pack on for several hours with a 30+lb child in the back doing steep hikes across uneven, wet terrain and have felt great the entire time. I'm not in awesome shape, but I can still hike for a few miles with relative ease. Honestly the only "bad" part was my son sweating so much while in the pack but that was just because he was basically snuggling me for multiple hours at a time while I sweated and I'm already a "furnace" of a human, as my wife puts it.10/10, would buy again

Simple, slim and all you need without carrying a monstrosity.
Finally a backpack that is minimalist. It’s comfortable, simple without a million different harness adjustments and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Best I found
This is Gramma talking, so I have some experience... I tried the Dueter, way too complex of a machine, but also way more adjustable and probably more comfortable for long distance hiking, but we just needed something to walk the beach, and I like the simplicity of the Chico better. Haven't tried any others but they all looked complex like the Dueter. There are a few specific differences I really like about the Chico. The frame is more similar to the old style carrier, that has a rim around it the baby can chew on, it was my baby's favorite teething ring and kept him happy for long walks. the other is the way the baby's legs dangle from the other models, I would think the blood circulation would get cut off! The Chico has a bar the Baby can rest his feet on and stand up if he wants. I also like that the Chico has only a waist strap, the other's are strapped in like a car seat, which babies get way too much of these days, always being strapped down into car seats, strollers and high chairs even... enough already! Give them some freedom to move for heaven's sake!! the down sides are... yes the shade/rain thing is useless and just in the way. The shoulder and hips straps are NOT adjustable enough for bigger men and the chest strap is at my 6'3" sons throat. We are going to have to customize that... It fit's mom and gramma great, it's pretty good but not super comfortable. The perfect design is still yet to be made, so I'm thinking about it!

BEST CARRIER
AMAZING!!!!!!! Don’t buy any other model of back carrier as a 5’3 I’ve tried a lot in work with my 15month old on my back and the others are painful too long and make me walk in a forward tilt to even the weightThis has fixed alllllll of that!!!!

Travel must
So everyone always talk about hiking, but this is fabulous for traveling with a little one. We went on an international trip and a lot of places that you tour don’t have options for strollers or wagons. They have been around for centuries and they just can accommodate these things. Anyways, my husband and I both use it. Super lightweight and, here is the best thing ever, you don’t need 2 people to use it. Usually you are in some sort of contortion until you finally get your child in and situated. It’s not like that with this item. I got my son in and my husband wasn’t around to help. Also, you parents can attest to this, when you are in the kitchen and your child wants to see and touch and mess with everything and it makes cleaning dishes or cooking take forever. I pop him in this and he enjoys that he can see everything going on. It also allows him to fall asleep and has a hood if needed to shade from sun and rain. Go out get it now!

I love it
The media could not be loaded. This chair was the best we could buy, the price is worth it... it is super comfortable for both my son and me, light and super practical, it doesn't take up much space... it doesn't have pockets but that doesn't matter much to me as I prefer it not to carry so much weight... but I really recommend it with my eyes closed.

Sturdy, Quick setup, easy to use, but bulky
Bought for my 2yr old son 26lbs for beach trips and small walks/ hikesPros:STURDY. Does not feel look or seem flimsy. Frame is thick. And when your child is placed in it, doesn't feel like they'll tip overQUICK SETUP/ EASY TO USE. Just unfold and you're ready to go. It is already assembledCONS:BULKY since it is already assembled and thicker stronger frame. Especially bulky for placing in luggagePADDING could be better. Padding is thin and not intended for long trips walksCOVER is small. Does not give a lot of cover for your child against the sun so keep that in mindOverall, great for its sturdiness and great for a quick ready to go carrier. Not intended for long trips due to the padding provided. It's definitely my go to carrier for quick walks small trips and walks on the beach. Also my son sits up and can see over my head rather than just looking at the back of my head. Hope this helps
