Good value for price
I am very happy with my telescope. Part of the glass on the magnifying glass is slightly scratched. But no big deal. It still works fine and you can still see things clear. Good value for price.

Excellent Microscope
This microscope is an excellent bargain for the price. It is solidly built and provides excellent optics. Coupled with an AmScope Canon camera adapter, it achieves high quality digital images either for capture or for viewing on a computer. I recommend it highly for anyone working with a limited budget..

A Good Basic Compound Microscope
A seemingly good basic compound microscope for an affordable price. The AmScope T120C provides 4x/10x/40x/100x objective lens along with a pair of 10x's and 25x's eye pieces. When switching to the 40x and 100x objective lens, these lens may touch your media, with the 100x's lens being somewhat blurry.I'm attaching 4x, 10x, 40x, and 100x compound magnification images of oat grass as seen through the camera port using a AmScope MU500 5MP camera with the Linux ToupLite software. PPM/Tiff images were captured and rendered to JPEG for posting here. The camera is mounted to the trinocular port directly above the objective lens. I have written a separate review for the AmScope MU500 5MP USB-2 camera with additional images and further notes. The MU series cameras are considered 40x magnification alone and are further reduced to 20x magnification using the FMA050 0.5x adapter. Cross referencing the model FMA050 adapter which was included with the MU series cameras, this is a "0.5X C-mount Reduction Lens for MU Series Cameras" with SKU RU050. Another mounting option instead of using the T120C's removable trinocular long (adjustable focal) length tube allowing the MU series camera to be temporally inserted similar to the eyepieces, users can likely purchase a shorter $45 "Adjustable Photo Port to C-Mount Adapter" SKU CPC05 and offers a more permanent mount for the MU series cameras. The CPC05 part is currently out of stock when writing this, and AmScope customer service stated using the CPC05 might not offer exact parallel focusing between both the camera and eyepieces. Asked whether the CPC05 may omit parts of the image area or include a black ring, they stated the CPC05 shouldn't, and there maybe only a problem with parallel focusing.I noticed the 100x's magnified image is very blurry, but usable. Some additional items to order along with your microscope: microscope glass slides with square glass covers 100-peices, Fecal kit 50-pieces (If you're doing fecal exams.), Sodium Nitrate solution 1-Gallon, AmScope MU series digital camera, Amazon.com's SmartGuard 3 Year Warranty.PROS1) Decent basic microscope for a reasonable cost.2) A dedicated camera port for camera use at the same time while viewing, instead of having to switch eye pieces and constantly readjusting focus and lighting. If you're doing any digital imaging, just get the trinocular port model!3) Almost ALL PARTS appear to be readily and easily replaceable, or have the likely future probability of being replaceable. Although there currently is no replacement LED offered via AmScope's store, the transformer states an output rating of 2-5V 1000mA @ 1000k for it's specifications. A quick search on Google for microscope replacement LED's, resulted with an Accu-scope 3W LED Bulb (A00-3365/A88-3258-LED) and is very similar looking. Also very likely other types of lamps can be utilized, and/or the transformer can be easily switched with another type of transformer.4) Camera related note. After a week of researching ToupTek's ToupView/ToupLite, I realized AmScope also offers AmScopeX for Windows/Mac/Linux. AmScope appears to have the source code (or a license for the source code), for providing more recent compilations which include additional software features and fixed bugs. The ToupTek/AmScopeX software appears to use libraries instead of drivers for accessing the camera. (Additional TWAIN and DirectShow drivers are included, but apparently not used by ToupTek/AmScopeX's mainly utilized software.)CONS1) Fuse mounts on these microscope base have a loose plastic nut on the rear inside mount, allowing the fuse mount to be pulled from the base. Notified Amazon.com and AmScope support. After explaining I have some expertise with electronics, they quickly sent a replacement base with replacement fuse, saving return shipping costs and time, including additional risk for damage during shipping.2) Initial microscope ordered had excess oil on stage and grease with metal shavings on eye piece fine focus adjuster. (Amazon.com notified and AmScope support. Returned and received a replacement within one day.)
