Use this on a chameleon water supply setup. Have this hooked up in series to the power side of a relay. Pump water to a holding tank up above the cage, which then slowly drips the water down below. They will not drink from pools of water. Been using this float switch for a year now and still working just fine. This is a 2nd one I bought so if my supply tank gets low, my pump will not run dry and burn itself out.

The title says it all. It's a simple bulkhead float and works well. The price is great, as well!

Originally gave one star for switch not operating as expected. Found out while looking for a replacement is that float switches of this kind need to have a relay wired between float switch and unit being powered, in this case, a mini water pump. It's noted in other company's product description but not this one. Once I wired a relay into the circuit, switch worked as it should. Product requirements should be more detailed for novices.

So far so good. It’s a submersible reed switch, and that’s what I needed. I drilled a hole on our dogs water tank/bowl and soldered the wires of this float sensor to a door sensor so we would know right away when their water was getting low.

I use the switch to protect a water pump for a garden drip irrigation system. It arrived with no jam nut so I had a replacement sent, the seal works on a water barrel approx. 18" in diameter. If it had arrived with all the parts I would have given it 5 stars.
