Kinky Boots [DVD]

We love this film !! Based on a true story about a shoe factory near where we live. Watched on TV recently and realised how great a film this is so we bought the DVD.

This is another film which for some peculiar reason have not been released on Blu-ray in the UK; why? Germany have release a version of it. However this US release plays region free and there is extras. Deleted scenes, with optional commentary track, ; Featurettes: The Real Kinky Boots Factory & The Journey of a Brogue; as well as Director and stars commentary. This is well worth getting. The films a hoot.

British film making at its best

Even if I absolutely love a film or product, I find it hard to just go ahead and give it 5 stars, because there is always something that could probably have been done better.For weeks now, I catch myself humming "Whatever Lola Wants" and it's always Chiwetel's voice singing along in my head! This film is both funny and sad. It is full of pathos, as you are pulled into the world of Lola. Despite the title, Kinky Boots is about a man trying to save his business. Yes there is a love interest & lots of Chiwetel in a dress, but in truth, there is nothing particularly "kinky" about this film. There were elements of this film that do bother me, enough to not give it 5 stars, but overall, the film is thoroughly enjoyable.A must watch if you like films based on a true(ish) story or you just need something to make you smile. You will probably never look at burgundy in the same way again.

This movie is so so great! I already loved the DragQueen world and this movie teaches people about them and about the acceptance of people differences and genders/sexuality through the shoes! Ain't that a good idea!? Heh!I personnally love that movie!One of my favorite!

Mit der Qualität der Blu-ray disc bin sehr zufrieden. Der Ton als auch das Bild ist exzellent. Zum Film selbst dieser Film hat eine sehr gute Story die auf wahren Begebenheiten beruht. Sie ist sehr unterhaltsam, hat einen gewissen Charme, Ernsthaftigkeit und Witz gleichermaßen, und kann dazu beitragen Vorurteile abzubauen. Ich habe diesen Film mir schon mehrere Male angesehen, und war bisher nie gelangweilt, und konnte immer wieder etwas neues entdecken innerhalb einer Szene oder Darstellung. Für mich ein sehr guter Film mit viel Wahrheit darin.

Ma copine l'a vu à new york, j'ai vu qu'une comédie musicale se déroulait en honneur au film, je lui ai offert et moi même étant fan de comédie UK je n'ai pas été déçu, c'est tellement revigorant comme film ! Les anglais savent mettre des coups là ou il faut pour se tordre de rire !

Have wanted this movie for a long time and finally have it. I want to see the musical show from it in New York this year. It's such an unusual, offbeat, unique story that proves life imitates art. Love, love this movie
