I tried different options before buying the Garrett carrot…I should have just gone with the carrot to begin with. I first tried an off brand trying to save some money. It worked but not very well and not for very long. Then I went the other way I bought one of the newest and most expensive pinpointers on the market, it works but it is really to sensitive and cannot be turned down enough to make it practical as a pinpointer and it died after a year. I did get a replacement as it was under warranty but I was without my pinpointer while getting the warranty service completed. I bought this one because I could not be without a pinpointer in the peak of metal detecting season. Cue angelic music and light shining from above. No wonder this is the benchmark that all other pinpointers are measured against! It works great! The sensitivity can be turned up if you need it and turned down enough for accurate, close pinpointing. It is durable and easy to use. Battery lasts a very long time and it doesn’t cost as much as the “best” pinpointers out there. If you are looking and thinking about another pinpointer, stop! Buy the Garrett carrot! You won’t regret it!

Garrett makes one of the best, if not THE best pinpointers for metal detecting. A must have as a metal detectorist!
