RIEDEL Cabernet Decanter

Great competitive price and delivered in one piece!

Very thin and delicate, decent price. I thought when I ordered it I was getting something that holds a mag ... would be shocked to get 1.5L of wine in this without it being too high ... but will test it out soon.

Riedel don't make a Grape series decanter, so far as I know, but I recognised this item as a Syrah decanter and ordered it accordingly. In fact, one of the two product descriptions given for it explicitly names the Syrah - and that is precisely what turned up, I'm pleased to say. This is a good decanter: big enough to allow plenty of air above 75cl of wine and light enough in weight to be easily handled. The glass is thin and there is a pouring lip, so drips are not a problem, which they are with many decanters. If you use Riedel glasses or any of the good quality thin wine glasses, there is very little risk to the glass from a decanter like this. Using a heavy, old fashioned ship's decanter can be risky with delicate wine glasses. No stopper is supplied, so if (unlike me) you like to spend a day or two finishing your bottle, you could pour the wine back into its bottle and re-cork it.

Lovely fine glass decanter/great value

I bought this decanter as a present which the recipient was delighted with. The Crystal is thin and delicate so I do hope it wears well. I thought it was a little on the small size but it does hold a full bottle of wine.

Great value simple decanter-takes a standard bottle of wine. Dishwasher safe.

It arrived on time and was well packed for safety but the decanter is much smaller than I realised. If you do put a bottle of wine in it, its full to almost over flowing. Using it for a half bottle of wine works better but, unfortunately that is not what I thought I was getting.

Use it almost everyday..love the style and fits my metal aeration funnel perfectly. Wide surface and open spout make this one my top pick for decanters.. glad I bought it, will buy again and wholeheartedly recommend it.

I have no idea why this design is called Syrah -- it is no more or less useful for other red wines. But it is very easy to pour from compared to other decanters, lightweight and balanced. The tiny lip spout on the rim is great, but it will also drip a teeny bit if one fails to cleanly cut off the pouring.

So glad that I bought this decanter. Made well. It's a little delicate as in thin wallled glass, but that's due to the quality of the glass decanter. I always hand wash it, and place it in my china cabinet for safe keeping. I have used this decanter at least three times a week for my Italian, French, and California red wines. It will hold 750 ml bottle wines easily. It looks beautiful on my table. Decants superbly, And if I don't use all of the wine, it pours easily back into the bottle. It's a winner and well worth the cost.
