HCDZ Replacement Remote Control for Dr Infrared Heater DR968 DR-968 Portable Space Heater

Good to have a replacement, but this won't shut my Dr. Heater off or put it in standby so it cycles off & on every 5 mins or so til I manually press the buttons on the heater to either shut off or put it in standby mode.

This did not work for mike, a red light heater. I do not recommend buying one unless you know it will work.Do the math.

This review is for the product listed as, “HCDZ Replacement Remote Control for Dr Infrared Heater."We have an infrared heater and the remote for it quit working. I was hoping this one would work for it but it did not. The remote comes with no instructions, or labeling, or anything. It may work just fine if you have the exact model. It takes two AAA batteries (not included) and it is a PAIN to get the battery cover off.

This remote works, but it often takes a couple pushes to get a button to respond. I put in brand new batteries and sat 4 feet directly in front of the heater. Tried it for 3 days. It would work about 65% of the time with one push of a button, and 35% of the time it took two pushes or more to get a response. I have had a lot of different remotes over the years for different products, but never one that felt as cheaply made as this one. It is feather weight and the buttons are flimsy. Battery compartment slides open but has no "click" to keep it securely closed.
