LUPO USB 2.0 XD Memory Card Reader For Fuji & Olympus Cameras (Supports Windows + Mac)

My old laptop has a built in xD/SD combo reader. I still use some old cameras that only use xD cards so I keep the laptop to use with the old cameras/xD cards. Until recently all still worked well but, presumably, a windows update changed something and now only the SD reader slot shows in windows. To be fair, the laptop is a 12 year old Win 8 original thing and shouldn't really be working at all with Win 11, but it does. My wife has an identical laptop running Win10 and the xD reader on that has stopped working too. That's windows 'progress' for you. However, I still have a shedload of xD cards with loads of pictures still on them. I find my Fujifilm F20s easy to use and the pictures are still ok, useful for eBay, meter readings, leaving in the car, etc. and, if I drop them, it won't be a disaster. I doubted an USB reader like this one would work but I'm pleased to say it was a simple plug'n'play installation to get to the picture files again in windows explorer. One of my better buys!

The item was purchased to read from an old camera photograph card. It worked well and the photographs were easily viewed. The only downside, it is a USB 2.0 stick which made the downloading of the photographs slower. But for the price it is worth buying, especially as we could view some memorable photographs from times gone by.

I needed a method to transfer photos off an xD card from my old Olympus camera to my Windows 8.1 computer which didn't have a card slot. The Card reader was delivered in two days - even though it was in the Christmas post - and transfer of my photos from a full 1GB card was successful first time. Just downloaded a set of photos from a recent trip - great piece of kit.

I bought this card reader as I had upgraded my laptop to a Sony Vaio with Windows 7. The laptop, unlike my previous one does not have a PCMCIA card adaptor slot. With this little device it is so simple to just slot in the memory card then plug the Lupo into any spare USB socket. Being so small I can still plug other devices into the adjacent USB socket, a point to bear in mind when considering the more bulky USB card readers on the market. It has proved 100% reliable, is very good value and most efficient and I thoroughly recommend it. B.Brown in Redhill
