DEWALT 18V XR Brushless 125mm Flat Head Angle Grinder, Tool Only, DCG405FN-XJ

Typical DeWalt quality—solidly built and very reliable. The brushless motor is noticeably more efficient than my old brushed models, and the electronic brake is incredibly fast (stops the disc in under 2 seconds). I also really appreciate the E-Clutch feature; it’s saved my wrists a few times when the disc pinched. It’s well-balanced, the slim body is easy to grip, and the power output is impressive for an 18V tool. Highly recommended.

Soft start feature equates to no rotational kick on power-up. The easy, no-tool, guards, Types 1 & 2, are both solid, reassuring. Just powered up and went to work.

Brilliant Grinder 👍

This is a replacement for a corded angle grinder and I must admit, I think it actually performs better than my old one. I’ve only used it a couple of times but it has come in to its own when not working near a plug socket in the garden. It is powerful, well balanced and has plenty of power. It feels more ergonomic in use than others and just feels like a quality bit of kit. The other thing I really like about this grinder is that it is significantly quieter that my old corded one which screamed when in use, I’m sure the neighbours appreciate that. That’s not an excuse not to wear the appropriate PPE though.

Excellent product and price combined with quick delivery

I've only just bought this and haven't used it yet, haven't even plugged a battery on and spun it up. However, I was surprised that it comes with a large Allen key and not a pin spanner to tighten/loosen the wheel clamp nut. The clamp nut has 4 holes in 2 pairs - 1 pair are hexagonal holes for the Allen key - to tighten it according to the manual. The other pair are plain holes - the manual says use a spanner (doesn't say pin spanner) to loosen it, but there is no pin spanner provided. These things wear, and I can see in time the hexagons rounding out and the Allen key being useless. Fortunately I have on old Elu (forerunner to DeWalt) angle grinder which has a pin spanner so I'm OK, but beware - I'd advise go and buy a pin spanner for longevity. Otherwise kit looks to be usual good quality stuff from DeWalt.

I have never owned an angle grinder. But now I have one, and I can only describe this tool as a great addition to my existing collection of Dewalt tools. It looks good, feels good in the hands, is easy to control and, of course, works beautifully. I had spent an hour or so watching videos on YouTube for tips on how to sharpen lawnmower blades. So, shortly after delivery, I hurried down to my garage and within about 12 minutes I had sharpened all three blades on my ride on lawnmower. Fantastic, particularly as my local repair shop charges £25 a time to do the same. As such, I am going to save a great deal of money. A quick tip when fitting a recessed flap disc to the tool: make sure the correct side of the locking flange is screwed onto the disc. The locking flange should grip the disc and, therefore, the disc should not spin freely/loosely when the power is off. An angle grinder is such a versatile tool. With the right discs, it can grind, sand, polish, sharpen, and possible more, as I have yet to realise its full potential. If you purchase the flat head version (DCG405FN), as I did, you'll be able to work in restricted spaces. But, whatever model you choose, you'll never regret buying a Dewalt. Great buy, great price.

best grinder ever. narrow head gets into tight spots. It has an on off switch not one of those stupid safety paddle switches the you have to keep holding down. I know they are "safer" but they suck. This is not an 9" grinder, It's not going to take your leg off maybe a finger. well you've got 10 so don't stress so much. Seriously good grinder.
