Perfect for beginners
A great telescope to familiarise yourself with the basics of telescopes, using red dot finders, different types of lenses. Great value for money, very easy to use, light/compact and can give you some great views on a clear night, recommend!

Design Weakness?
Purchased this scope as a first venture into stargazing. Many reviews from many places indicated the optics would be acceptable. Probably these are true. HOWEVER, the vertical wooden bracket supporting the telescope tube was cracked at the point at which the telescope is attached. The hole where the bolt attaches the scope seems to create a serious weak spot which had broken in transit. Return the damaged scope for a refund. Now looking for an alternative with a more robust support. Shame, otherwise seemed like a nice piece of kit.

Good as a starting telescope.
Telescoped for kids have this problem:If you buy a cheap one, there is a risk that the kid will find all the astronomy boring. To get a good one, you need a fortune, and 90% the kid will not be interested in any case. So, if you can afford it, buy this one, or a similar, so that the kid can really have a descent telecope, and be able to actually see something.Moon: Great views, but I think i will also buy a moon filter (it is too bright when full moon)Mars: You can just realise that it is red.Jupiter, etc: I was not able to see rings.Must be top value for money.

Great for casual star gazers.
Much better than reflectors I have tried. Really clear, really good view finder. Perhaps best of all is the simple Dobsonian mount - you can just grab it on a whim and look at the sky, no messing about with tripods, counter balances, etc.

Received as a valentines gift wanted one for sooo long. great beginner scope really enjoying it. the moon looks amazing and managed to see 4 of Jupiter's moons. very happy! The supplied lenses are great and a bit of a money saver if you are just starting out. All was well pakaged and in perfect working order out of the box.

Simple to use
I'm a complete novice to star gazing and telescopes but after reading many reviews of various models I decided to take the plunge with this one.Well, with simple and easy to follow instructions it was a breeze to put together. Probably took about 10 minutes to get it all up and running. And my viewing experience has been excellent, seeing stars that i just can't see with the naked eye. But I'm really waiting to see the likes of Venus and Mars and the moon which will surely properly test its capabilities.
