Makita 763625-8 Collet Cone for Die Grinders

This is my second order. I wanted this coilet as the one supplied with the Makita DGD800 die grinder is 6mm and I have 6.35mm bits. The first one arrived and was certainly not 6.35, more like 3mm, and no nut was supplied so I returned it. The second one arrived and although it appears to be 6.35mm, the body diameter is smaller than the original 6mm collet and drops too far into the collet housing of the grinder and cannot be tightened to hold a 6.35mm bit. Again, no nut was supplied so I've returned it again.

I bought this 1/4” collet because the Makita die grinder I bought from Germany which was advertised as a 1/4” product was most certainly not. It came with a 6mm collet which will not allow a 1/4” (or 6.35mm) Kutzall bit to fit properly. This product it an absolute perfect match for the Makita Die grinder GD0601 model which means I now have a 6mm and 6.35mm collet for all eventualities. Although I will say that I have not seen any 6mm diameter shaft bits for a die grinder. I have taken off one star because the price seems exorbitantly high

You are guessing when you order your Makita die grinder (DGD800Z) if it will come with a 6mm or 1/4-inch collet. I guessed correctly that I would need a 1/4-inch collet to use deburr tools with a 1/4-inch shank. I guessed wrong that this collet would be suitable.[I believe the correct one is 763673-7]

Does what it says

Can not be used alone although they say it is. It has to be inserted into 8mm collet (may be 12 mm too but I'm not sure). There is no nut included with it as they say. Guess the data is for different model.

If you want to convert your Makita die grinder (DGD800Z) from 6mm to 1/4-inch, don't use this collet. The collet you actually need is 763673-7, also available from Amazon (but more expensive).
