TevaMen's Katavi 2

For most of my adult life, I've had at least one pair of tevas at a time; sometimes 2or 3. They've always carried me everywhere, even through some unforgiving terrain.At some point, Teva moved production to Vietnam, after which quality took a nosedive.But quality seems to have returned. These feel solid and rugged. They are comfortable, with good support, but as they are more for outdoor use, they don't have things like gel soles or air chambers.We'll have to see if the glue holds over time, but for the moment, I'm happy with them.

Teva has perfected their game. There is no reason to improve what is already just right

I bought these sandals almost two years ago and have worn them nearly 90% of that time. I am in my 70's and have neuropathy in my feet. Most shoes are uncomfortable. I have found these sandals to be the most comfortable things I can put on my feet by far; hence my wearing them nearly all the time no matter the weather. I prefer to wear them with socks, especially in cool/cold weather and I know that marks me as a nerd. At this stage of my life I don't care. There is still excellent padding in the footbed and the soles are just beginning to wear a little. I like the suede look, too. They are on sale right now on Amazon and I may just order another pair for when these eventually wear out. I am not a big hiker or anything, but I can say these are great for everyday walks. Teva has really knocked it out of the park with this sandal!

These are my first Teva pair of, well, anything, and so far I am impressed. Despite some reviews saying these are too large, the size 11 I ordered is spot on in size--the adjustable straps on top and in the rear ensure they fit nicely without slipping off. The rear straps are padded, so chafing should be minimized. (I don't plan on really long hikes with these--I have some Columbia hiking shoes for that.) They are also comfortable with good arch support and the soles have cushioning and flex. And I'm liking the color (Black Olive), as most of my shoes and sandals are shades of dark grey or black. So do I order a second pair in the Bungee Cord color? I'll wait a few weeks and see, as there is no discount on the price at the moment.

I forgot how comfortable Tevas are. I had a pair I loved but it stopped making the particular style/type so I tried others, Chicos, Crocks sandals (similar style), and others. I didn't realize I missed the compliant foot bed and firm, grippy sole. I wonder why it took me so long to get back to these.I have been told I am a perfect size 10.5. Being between sizes, I wasn't sure which side of the coin I should be on. I went smaller because I didn't want extra foot bed to trip me like on my 11 Chicos (the 10 had weird arch support so I had to go 11). This was an excellent choice. As the photos show, they are about perfect without foot overhang or extra foot bed sticking out.If you are closer to an 11 you might be pushing it a bit with 10s. If closer a perfect 10.5 or lower, I don't think you can go wrong with the 10s.If you are deciding between a half size, I hope this helps. If it did, please indicate it with the button.

The Katavi and Hurricanes had a virtually identical fit once adjusted, but the suede strapping and mesh panels on the Katavi made them more comfortable than the Hurricanes - for the same fit. The shape and foot fit of the beds was virtually identical for the Hurricane and Katavi. The Obern was close, but had a higher arch support and was more rigid and felt a bit narrower at the middle foot. I felt the arch support too much on the Oberns. The Toachi in contrast had an extremely narrow tread and footbed and my foot could not even fit on it.All of these were size 11 in mens - but they fit very differently.The Hurricane and Katavi are the most similar, and the Katavi with the extra side mesh panels and suede material for the strapping was much more comfortable with and without socks. The material used for the Hurricanes was not nearly as comfortable and the expose rings added to that feeling compared to the Katavi. The Hurricanes, however, I expect would handle being wet better than the Katavi and dry faster.
