Millipedes are omnivores, so they eat pretty much anything and everything. These guys love eating decaying oak and maple leaves. Also, bark and moss is a favorite of the millipede. By adding living moss, you will add some nice green color and at the same time provide your millipedes with fresh food and hiding places. Everything from fruits and vegetables to bits of dried pet food are eaten, however, no bananas or carrots. You can feed your millipedes just by placing the food on top of the substrate. If the food goes bad or moldy, like fruit and vegetables, remove it before it starts to mold or rot.

It is in the 80s and 90s where I live would a cooling pack be included or would I have to wait until it gets cooler?

We check the weather before we send anything live. If it is too warm, we do include a ice pack.

Its 15F currently in MA, can you ship in this cold weather?

15 degrees is a challenging transit. You would need to add a heat pack. We do have 60 hr. heat packs available on Amazon. We do ship 2 day express and we would need to ship it as a Hold for Pickup. There are fedex sub-stations set up for easy access. Since it is guaranteed 2 day delivery, we would pick the best delivery day looking at the weather for the entire week and ship accordingly. If these options are not an option for you, it is best to wait until it is warmer.

Can different species live together? And do they eat chola wood?

Yes, mine lived with scarlets, bumblebees and Smokey oaks just fine. They didn’t eat much wood. The ivory millipedes were by far the most active and vibrant. They rarely burrowed.
