Coghlans G.I. Can Opener

I find these firm & strong.

Coghlans is the GI can opener that doesn't bend. It's the one made of proper carbon steel. It's probably the one you're looking for. I tried and returned two other brands before finding this one on Amazon.

It is a bit hard to get it right the first time, but once you master that skill, it works like a charm.

I have always carried one of these ever since I started working away from home meny years ago, there easy to carry just pop it on your keyring and easy to use. I am never with out one.

Bought this so as there's one in my standard BOB, to act as a spare should I lose my tin opener, after all what's the point in having tinned food if you can't get into it?The other is going on my key ring and will therefore form part of my EDC.What can be said about these? Small, compact, easy to carry, relatively cheap and useful as fek. In other words, IMHO, a good buy.

I'll be honest that I may never use these but wanted them "just in case".There are a great many of these at a variety of prices. While I didn't want to fork out for the full military issue version I was hoping this would be something berrer than the very cheapest.I was ultimately swayed to this as it says "Made in Canada" in the photos. Imagine my disappointment when the ones I received are stamped "Made in Taiwan."

I've only used it once on a tin I couldn't open any other way, since the metal was so thin any other type of opener just bent it, and it did the job perfectly. A very useful little item.

If you want a can opener than is strong and Sharp and works.. this is IT..I have been using thèse for years-:

I leave this in my car so when I tailgate or go on a picnic, I have a can opener that's small and compact and works really good. I would recommend it.

I bought them because I didn't mind wasting $3 if it doesn't work but this works amazingly. Very light and great for camping or backpacking or bike packing
