You’ve probably already seen the specs on youtube reviews if you’re checking this bag, it’s the best, beats many more highly priced bags any day. My go to and most borrowed bag for carry on, weekend, week long or minimalist travel trips. It’s feature rich and awesome if you like the duffle compartment but backpack style, the double access zipper compartments are genius. It has an airline strap if you wanna throw it over a luggage handle. It’s got great durability, I’ve had mine for two years now no problems unlike some Patagonia and Mountain Hardwear packs that I also loved but over years of use the waterproof material on the outers begin to flake off. The style is great, minimalist and subdued, which is slick if you travel and don’t wanna attract attention to your gear or pack, it doesn’t scream backpacker tourist when you’re in sketchy places. Tom tic is the giant killer, can’t recommend this bag enough!

Fantastic travel bag. I have used it for 4 recent plane trips. Can fit an entire week in the bag if you pack pretty light. 2 pair of pants, 5 shirts, 5 pair of underwear, 5 pair socks, toiletries. Could fit more stuff but I travel with Rollerblade as well to tour the place I'm in. Great bag other than it's a black hole inside and hard to find things since it all black. Could uses a lighter color liner.

Ok, I’m not a reviewer. Just a normal guy. This bag is perfect for a weekend travel with options or a week with planned itinerary. It’s rugid, it’s practical, it’s ideal. Room for what you need, it’s basically a duffle bag backpack without it being the annoyances of one. It’s a great travelers bag. Worth the money

I bought this bag to replace my aging Osprey Porter 46L; I wanted something a little more professional in appearance but still able to handle carrying lots of stuff. Hours of watching review compilations and seconds of checking my bank account pointed me solidly in the direction of this bag. My experience with the Tomtoc shoulder sling was positive, so I had no hesitation.I don't know where the 40L rating comes from; this bag is easily 36-38L with the most liberal of measurements. The videos that claim it will still hold a week or more of clothing readily admit they've been made by 5'8" waif-thin content creators. I'm 6'8" and just under 300 lbs and I got three days of outfits plus my toiletry and medicine roll. There was no room for a pair of shoes to fit. I was able to fit both my work 15" laptop and my 12.9" iPad Pro in its case in the padded clamshell area and still zip it without much fuss.Musicians: I had no problem fitting a few 11x17 scores in either the bottom of the main compartment or in the clamshell area. Given I am a frequently travelling band director, this was a huge plus.The backpack is well built but there is not much of a frame to it. If you're not using packing cubes, expect the bag to be lumpy. Very lumpy. The side straps do help tame things a bit. The backpack straps are thick and comfy, and there's a good deal of padding against the back. The laptop actually helped provide some rigidity and I could tell a huge difference when I wasn't bringing it with me.I'm two trips in and already getting some stringing/fraying from one of the shoulder strap ends. Nothing a quick flame can't fix but still not spectacular. The buckles aren't branded and don't feel like the sturdiest of builds, but I haven't seen any cracking or chipping.The fabric is water resistant but the shoulder straps collect dust and dirt rapidly. A quick wipe-down and everything is clean again.

I bought this bag for a 5-day trip where I didn't want to bring a roller bag or regular suitcase. The Tomtoc was very comfortable to wear while walking through airports, easy to stow on the plane (either under the seat or overhead), and had plenty of storage and easily accessible pockets for clothes, cables, shoes, and everything else. It got knocked around quite a bit and never got a scratch. I had such a good experience, I bought two more for the rest of my family. I'm looking forward to my next trip with it.

Simple, large and comfortable backpack - even when full and heavily loaded with clothes, laptop etc. Center strap really helps when walking long distances when loaded. Lightweight when empty, so doesn't add pounds to the equation like some of the heavier ones like the Veria Islander Savvy. My current and favorite for 1-2 day trips, and as my carry on when flying.

Looks very good. Haven't used it yet but it is well made. Came in a plastic zip-lock bag that was inside a box that was inside of the shipping box. So great, protective shipping. Description is accurate. I like the 4 cinch straps to compress everything. The laptop area is big enough for my smallish chromebook. There are two sleeves in the laptop area. There are two water bottle holders. Two bag handles one on the small side (the top) (this is a more padded handle) and one on the long side (this handle is less padded). The backpack straps feel fine. The backpack straps have enough adjustability. All in all looks durable.
