Caffe Borbone ESE Coffee Pods - Miscela Verde/Dek (Decaf) - 150 Count

My pet peeve with decaf coffee is that, once you can find it, it’s only offered in blah strength. I like dark/French roast/bold. Try to get that in decaf coffee! Well, here it is! I’m new to making home espresso and bought a DeLonghi machine that is versatile and alliws for ESE pods or putting your own coffee in the filter. After trying another brand from Italy (Bristot), I thought I would have to guve up the ESE pod idea because it was so blah. So I bought espresso beans and freshly ground them yesterday and had a delicious bold coffee shop quality cappuccino—but not decaf. Last evening I received these decaffeinated ESE pods to try (the green label). This morning I made two espressos in my beautuful clear double-walled DeLonghi cups. Magnifique! Bellisima! FINALLY a simple way to make a beautiful, delicious, bold—and decaffeinated—espresso. Highly recommend this brand. (I threw out my other ones.)

I was s pleasantly surprised by this coffee! It’s fresh and tasty (not a given since nobody seems to care about making good decaf anymore) and a big bonus is the ESE pods are compostable and the wrappers are recyclable. The box is huge (150 pods) so this could’ve been a bad decision if the coffee sucked, but it’s good! Yay!

We've been buying these and the caffinated for years. Taste great and the service is great.

I admit I'm a bit of a coffee snob - so I was quite reluctant to try these pods. But I don't drink enough decaf to keep the beans fresh and I don't want to have to switch out beans in the grinder. So I reluctantly ordered the pods. They're actually pretty good! The crema isn't as nice as with freshly roasted and ground beans but the taste is pretty good.

We've been drinking the Lucaffe for years and it is excellent. We tried this because Lucaffe was not available. It is very week and almost flavorless. Now I have 298 pods I can't use :(.

I’ve been buying this brand for years now. Haven’t found a better substitute and don’t bother looking anymore. Worth the price.

We've have been using Cafe Borbone ESE espresso pods for years and have been generally happy with them. We have tried many different brands in the past, but have been using Cafe Borbone exclusively for the last few years.In the past, we've had the occasional broken pod, but typically not more than a few per box of 150, so we just attributed this to rough handling of the packaged pods. However, the last box of Decaf pods contained many pods that weren't completely sealed. Some of the broken pods were obviously bad and loose coffee exploded all over the counter when you open them, but some were not so obvious and before we started checking every pod for this problem before use, loose coffee got into our espresso machine and clogged it up. We were able to clean it out and get it working again, but this caused a lot of headaches (literally, when I don't get my normal espresso fix, I get a headache).Approximately half (75) of the pods in the box were open about 1cm at the side farthest from the tab. Since they all were defective in the same way, I would assume this is due to a manufacturing issue. I wrote the manufacturer last month but received no response. I had given the product 5 stars until this incident, but in light of this issue, I've revised my rating down to 3 stars. I might as well pay twice as much for another brand since half of these are unusable.
