The VMWare Workstation 5 Handbook (Charles River Media Networking/Security)

Worth every penny
Have purchased so many technical books and have been disappointed that I now half expect a book not to live up to the promise of its index.Disappointment was certainly not the case with VMware Workstation 5.0 Handbook, in fact quite the opposite. Whilst being a competent Windows and Linux user, virtualization software represents a whole new world. That said, this book meets my immediate needs admirably. The author writes in an informal, almost chatty, style that makes for very easy and relaxed reading. He covers a wide range of topics, and deals with each in a fairly comprehensive manner. For someone new to this great software, the book is an ideal companion and I cannot recommend it enough. Whether one will "outgrow" its usefulness as one gains experience, only time will tell. Meanwhile, it is money well spent!

At half the price it would get 5
This is a good book on VMware. However it's not a 'guru' book, which one might expect for the price. There is lot's of useful information for beginner & intermediate level, but I didn't find much that isn't covered in the free User Manual (though a couple of hours spent browsing this book will get you much further than the manuals). However there is a shortage of boks on the subject and this book answers almost all needs.
