Directions Heat the mouth guard in hot water, bite down firmly to create an impression of your teeth, cool it to set the shape, wear it during sleep, and clean it regularly with toothpaste and water.

Immediate result
Started with the smaller one, worked from the first night with no jaw/muscle aches, only the feeling of pressure on my lower teeth the following morning, which wore off in an hour or so.Wearing it generates a lot of saliva, but usually it's not a problem. After about 3 weeks the smaller one stopped being effective so I switched to the larger one. Again, no jaw/muscle aches, just the occasional pressure on the teeth in the morning. My wife is delighted, after putting up with my loud snoring for many years. My only disappointment is that it doesn't feel like I sleep any better, I was hoping I would wake feeling more refreshed. There is no doubt, though, that I am sleeping better as I no longer get prodded awake for disturbing my wife...

Didn't work for me, and uncomfortable
Did not work for me at all. The idea seems reasonable but this didn't help my snoring at all. I use SnoreLab on my phone and this has no effect. Also, it's uncomfortable -- my teeth would feel sore after using it for a night.

Works...somewhat!
Does seem to reduce snoring but not totally eliminate. 3rd set bought. Despite following all care instructions the devices don't last the 6 months plus they're supposed to...more like 3 months max. After this plastic has become so soft it no longer has any effect. Also annoying that you have to buy both devices every time & can't buy them individually. After first time when you work out which device you need you don't need the other device so every subsequent time you're paying for 2 devices, 1 of which you will just throw away. In summary work fairly well but will probably shop around for an alternative that lasts a bit longer. I'd say they're worth a try though.

Worked great but it does have some drawbacks
I'll start by saying that this is the first anti-snoring device I've ever used, so I can't really compare its effectiveness to other styles. However, on my first night of using the device (it recommends using the gentler 2mm device for a week before trying the harsher 6mm adjustment) it worked so well that my partner woke up to check on me as I was so quiet!!! This doesn't eliminate all sounds as I did find it makes my nose breathing a bit heavier, but that is much quieter than snoring. What is great about this device is it is hinged so it allows you to open your mouth to breathe through or even to have a quick drink of water. So after a few days of pretty much positive results I did begin to notice a few draw back, none of which have made me stop using but maybe change the way I use the device. First is that often during the night I find that my mouth dries out and it becomes stuck to my top teeth, allowing my bottom teeth to fall down, which allows my lower jaw to fall back and can start me snoring again. When drinking water to correct this I find it will pool in the device and is hard to swallow without creating quite a lot of suction in my mouth, which is a little uncomfortable on my teeth, so I tend to have to take the device out, drink, and then put it back in, which is a little more disruptive to sleep. Come morning I do find that my sleep quality has been better, but there is some tenderness on my bottom teeth (this is mentioned in all the paperwork that comes with the device so it was expected) so very often I will set an alarm a little earlier just so I can remove it and allow half an hour before I need to be eating/brushing my teeth as it is a little more comfortable.Of the issues I've found, none of them have been deal breaking, some are more inconveniences. Wearing the device is a bit like wearing a gum shield, and it can be put into some boiling water to soften it a bit so you can get a better fit for your mouth. Overall I am very happy with the results and would definitely recommend that you give it a try if other alternatives haven't worked.

Not customisable and therefore uncomfortable.
Not good. This might well work for some people’s anatomy, but not mine. I’m quite tolerant of mandibular advancement devices having used them for a while, I needed a new one and so thought I’d try this based on the good reviews. I wasn’t convinced as to how good this could be due to the fact that you don’t mold it to your own teeth- and I was unfortunately right. It gave me ulcers on my tongue where the medial corners of the hinge were rubbing, and it was painful against the inside of my mouth below my lower teeth.By all means try- it may well work for you- but I found that this was vastly inferior than a cheap, generic ‘boil and bite’ mouthguard in terms of comfort.

It works! It is a minor discomfort, but bearable. BUY BUY BUY!!!
I am a big time snorer with the snoring coming from my throat. Mandibular Advancement devices seem to work quite well for me. I was using a system made by a dentist using my teeth mold to create a rigid plastic tooth guard type device for upper and lower jaw. There was a 'lock' of sorts that kept the lower jaw forward. The rigid 'tooth guard' definitely had a firm grip on my teeth, so much so that it felt like was was wearing braces - and if i heated it to soften the grip, then they would 'fall off'. I couldn't entirely close my mouth so i would wake up with a very dry mouth, so i added a chin strap which helped. Then it all broke!I found the ZQuiet, ordered it and haven't looked back since June 15 (a month ago). No complaints from the spouse, only a little discomfort that is easy enough to get used to, no dry mouth (some drooling though). The latex that grips the teeth is soft and doesn't stress them too much and there is no locking mechanism. A MAD will cause a little discomfort as it pushes the lower jaw forward and you can feel this for awhile after removing it. Not a big problem. Will the material last? I can't say, but if it lasts 6 months only, I will buy a replacement. The box comes with 2 of these MADs, one more aggressive than the other - I have only used the 'gentle' one.I have tried nostril expanders, head straps, sprays, the above mentioned custom mouthpiece - this is the first one that actually works, and is bearable. I wish they would pay more for all the good publicity I am giving them (to all my snoring friends) but alas, they aren't.
