Yes - it comes with batteries. They are the small ones like those used in watches and cameras. My nephew loves this toy!

Q: How many inches tall figures are compatible with this playset?

5 inch imaginex...for example my son had the batman imaginex castle and the figurines also work for the power ranger castle

Q: Can you play with thr regular size power rangers or is it for the miniture ones?

It's unfortunate but the Imaginext command center was designed for the miniature power rangers but it hasn't stopped my 4 year old from enjoying the item and using his rugular sized power rangers.

Q: I know that the age is 3-8 for this, but is it a bit childish for a 5-yr old?

I got it for my 4 yrs old son and he loved it and is still playing with it!
