VEGAS Pro 14 (PC)

Due to my absence from home, I have just recently activated the product. It was delayed in shipping and had some problems but seller is fair and correct and has solved problem very fast. Still I finally have it and it is powerful and fast editing software. Was afraid it will not work on my laptop but it does. I feel very satisfied.

Sony Vegas is a great editing video software, it's very easy to use specially for beginners and I would highly recommend using Sony Vegas Pro for any video editing.

This is an impressive video editing program which has been put through its paces by the University students in the family who needed a good video editing pice of software. It's a package for those who want to invest some time in its best use and those who want to have a full range of feature. The reward is superb results.

Early days, using on-line instruction - youtube etc. So far no crashes, all nice and smooth.

After purchasing and registering this product, I then edited a 2 hour concert using 4 cameras and separate audio. All went well Once or twice some edits disappeared, but that could have been me. When it came to burning a DVD I set all the parameters and let the automatic rendering take place. A cancellation message appeared and Vegas closed down. I sent several messages to Magix, but as of old, they seldom reply. Therefore I can only give it 2 stars, and will probably return it if they don;t get back to me with a fix. Incidentally, I have Power Director 15, Magix Editor, and Nero 15 which all work fine.

First thing noticed was the preview window is faster without lagging behind as in the last trial version I had. The vignette video fx has made a comeback, this was part of Sony earlier version going back a few years (Magix have bought out Sony software now). The package includes additional software called ProDAD Mercalli version 4 Image Stabilizer which is ideal for fixing problems with video takes from sports events such as car racing, football, etc and you want the video to be more "Steady". Also included is Newblue titler pro for doing real fancy text for intros end outros. Also included is Boris FX Chroma key which fixes a lot of issues that were present with previous versions, it gives you a much better and clean green screen effect. Also some 3d software but I didn't get into that. Now for the so called cons 1. No Dolby plus (why on earth is this not supported when its so widely used?) 2. No support for DVD Audio so if you want 24bit sound you need to use Blu Ray only for HD music only discs (not to be confused with HD video) Top points You no longer need to use DVD Architect to burn DVDs and Blu Rays you can do it all in the same program, one of the things I hated in previous versions. Update: Having constant trouble burning discs using Infiniti BDRE discs which are re write ables as I always prefer to burn to a re writable then when I know its perfect make a copy for master. This way I don't waste constant discs trying to perfect a project.

I primarily use the architect part of this package. This is to actually burn the project to a dvd or bluray disc. If you have the right disc burner it does the burning really well. The Sony Vegas series has been instrumental in my DVD business as I sell a beginner Tai Chi series of dvds. The menus can be customised as well. This is also my go to editor when I've got sticking points in my projects. I have finally managed to unlock the multiple sound track option on this as well. So I look forward to introducing that along with the subtitle (CC) option. Just out of interest this was bought out by Magix and works really well with the magix editor system.
