The Down Head Sheesham Championship Chess Set

I’m delighted with this chess set and board. The wooden pieces are beautifully crafted with a nice weight and sizes and felted bottoms. The board is of equal quality and sturdy. Having 4 queens and storage box for the pieces is an added bonus. So glad I decided on this set after looking at countless others. It looks and feels more expensive than the cost.Most definitely worth the money. Really can’t rate it highly enough

This set arrived very quickly and on opening I was pleasantly surprised. The board is beautifully crafted and very solid. The pieces are excellent with just about the right amount of weight. I was pleased to see an extra queen either side for promotion. The box is well made but could do with some insert to prevent damage to pieces. ( I cut down the foam provided in the box with the pieces). Overall it is an excellent set and good value for money. Highly recommended

Good quality but be warned, there is no spare queens. When paying this kind of money I did expect to get them. But certainly cannot fault the delivery and build quality . Good value.

I decided to buy a chess set for my partner for his birthday. I sat looking at different sets for hours because I wanted the right set and at a affordable price. I came across this chess set and I thought I would chance it as it sounded like a decent set and looks nice. I was hoping I made the right choice. Upon arrival it looked like it was packaged with care and each item was carefully wrapped in bubble wrap. I had the right amount of chess pieces and the chess board was crafted beautifully. I was really happy with the box that the pieces go in. It was worth the price and I was thrilled. I had only one problem to which I emailed the company I purchased it from which was JDS Toys & Games Limited. One pawn piece was broken which was probably done in production line. I received an email immediately from the company who apologised and was extremely polite and helpful. They sent out two pawn pieces no questions asked or any fuss. Great customer service. I will happily buy again. Thank you :)

For me a chess set that feels right and is well made is a thing of joy, and this is such a thing of joy. I doubt the combination of classic chess pieces and the great board could be obtained at a lower cost anywhere. I have seen some reviews here about printed boards and chipped pieces, but I can only think they must have been reviewing a different product. Thoroughly recommended to anyone wanting a chess set that feels nice and look good.

Everything that I was expecting, even the box for the pieces is beautiful. The pieces are well made and finished and also weighted so very stable. The board is extremely well made with beautiful veneer of the playing surface. The fact that the veneer on the underside of the board is as high a standard as the playing surface says it all.

Board is covered by a laminate pvc image of squares. It had been stuck on off centre and looked poor quality. I complained and the sent a new one but should have got my money back really. I paid Far too much for this item.

Order arrived a day earlier than expected. The price is cheap for the quality of this set. I love it! The board is well made and as smooth as a baby's bottom. The pieces ae just the correct size and again exude of quality. One of the best purchases I made from Amazon to date. If I could only find someone to play with me often.

This set is beautiful. It arrived quickly and well packaged. It came with an unexpected surprise of 4 queens.
