Yes, the Cold Evaporative Filter (CEF) should be rinsed off each time you need to refill the HOCl generator with salt and water. This is the only "cleaning" you should do to the CEF. As for your CEF filter "getting very yellow" that's a good thing, your air purifier is doing what it is designed to do. Depending on your environment, where you live, etc., when you begin using the device, the H13 True HEPA filter and the Cold Evaporative Filter (CEF) will load quickly, meaning they are capturing dust, pollen, smoke, mold, and pet dander. As the air purifier works and exchanges/refreshes the air in your space 4.8 times per hour, the filter will not get so dirty as fast.
