Hungarian: 1062 Most Common Phrases & Words: Speak Hungarian, Fast Language Learning, Beginners, (Hungary, Travel Hungary, Budapest)

My three main complaints about this book.1. The words are evidently listed in a random order. The first Hungarian word listed is "mint" (English: "as"). No way is "mint" the most common Hungarian word. The most common words should be listed first.2. There are many misprints and errors. For example, the English word "I" is translated into "I" (the same thing) in Hungarian! In reality, the Hungarian word for "I" is "én". I suppose no one bothered to proofread this book.3. Some Hungarian words are translated into their less common English equivalents. The more common equivalents are ignored.This book is so messed up that I cannot trust it. I threw my copy away.

In my line of work I have to deal with a lot of Hungarian people who do not speak English that well. That is why I started researching on the internet trying to find some common phrases that can help me. I found this book which proved very useful. It provided me with the phrases I needed to get along with my clients and also made me curios to want to learn more. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn a bit of Hungarian.

This is worse than useless as it is full of errors - it appears to have been processed by google translate and not checked by any human. I know enough of both languages to recognise when something is just plain wrong!

I would have rated it higher but there doesn't seem to be a pronunciation guide. For someone new to Hungarian, that would be essential.

Did not provide a pronunciation guide...you can memorize the words, but it should prove interesting when you actually say them to a real Hungarian speaker. Some of the phrases are very irrelevant.

Great book for most common phrases. I would have preferred a different organizational structure for the book to make it easier to find phrases but it was adequate.

I bought this Hungarian translation book for my son and it is pretty much useless. He has been studying for a few months on his own and has identified tons of errors with his limited knowledge. Words and phrases can easily be used out of context as the book doesn't explain any tenses, etc. There is nothing about pronunciation.There are only two sections to the book, common phrases and words. The words section is a joke, as there is no alphabetical order or any way to find the word you want. The book is so poorly written, you sometimes have to flip the page to get the translation! Who wrote this, a 5 year old? I'll ask for a refund, but who knows where that will go.
