Neat and compact, quite attractive (especially if you're an Apple devotee, won't look out of place with the rest of your gadgets), reasonable speed performance for a spinning disk. Well priced for the capacity, at least in the 'brand with support' space - obviously you can get a Chinese no-name device much cheaper.Plays nicely with Mac straight out of the box, so far a really good device to use with Time Machine. The real test will be longevity, which it's too early to comment on.

Simplicity itself to connect and prepare for Time Machine backups. Plenty fast enough for access and searching for files. Very quiet in use, sits unobtrusively on the desktop.

Used as a back up drive for Mac, storing Time Machine back ups. All looks to be working correctly after 4 months use.

I already had a 1TB drive from LaCie which was reliable and easy to use so when I needed a bigger drive i went for the same manufacturer. Everything has worked perfectly so far, including being able to easily transwer files from one computer to another. Highly recommend.

Quiet operation, speedy, spacious… the price seems to vary lots.

Purchased as a replacement for external hard drive that had become tired. Works well. Easy to set up, acts as a back-up drive and saves everything. No issues so far.

The drive is perfect for backups and with the 5Tb capacity there is plenty of room for Time Machine backups and extra data storage.I personally partitioned 2Tb for Time Machine and 3Tb for data storage which is perfect for my use.This is not an SSD so don't expect lightning performance but for normal backups and data storage usage that is in a small package its fine.Plus it look nice.

This LaCie 5TB, External Hard Drive has been a massive boost for my aging iMac. I can now save all of my 4K video footage for my YouTube channel, rapidly, efficiently and reliably. I've had x2 of these amazing little LaCie 5TB, External Hard Drives for over 2 years and they've never missed a beat, i would absolutely not hesitate to buy them again, knowing that they would operate exactly as I wanted them to with my Apple iMac - Highly recommended - 10/10

Not sure really what to say other than it’s easy to set up and small so it doesn’t take up a lot of space. Easy to slip into a travel case. Nicely finished and built well.

Produit parfait, rien à dire. Au debut, comme probablement beaucoup d'entre nous, je me suis dit 'j'acheté le moins cher' (produit chinois, 30 balles sur Amazon). Mais, au bout d'une journée, mes données n'étaient pas encore copiées... Du coup je l'ai renvoyé. Et là, avec ce disque dur, zéro problèmes. Petit, rapide et solide. Je conseille. Nos données sont importantes, il ne faut pas le confier à n'importe quel disque dur !

This hard drive has been recommended left and right but since there has been a great discount close to the Black Friday date I’ve decided to splurge and have not regretted the purchase. Build is really nice with gritty textured aluminum on both sides. As far as speeds go it’s been really reliable, probably 2/3x faster than my previous Toshiba branded HDD. The packaging is great, the cardboard around the drive is thick enough to protect it from unfortunate drops while being in transit. Came in excellent condition, not a single dent. Would buy again.
