Pencils are pencils? Well maybe not!
So I didn't think I would ever be writing a review for pencils. But here I am... I found myself with a tenner on a card that I had to spend or lose it. That's how they ended up in my basket. When they arrived the box they come in put a smile on my face. Nicely printed cardboard sleeve & a quality plastic inner box.The pencils feel lush in the hand. The finish on the paint is spot on. The end cap with white stripe is a nice touch. When I stuck one in the sharpener it was a joy to spin a point on it. The graphite sharpens to a wicked point with no fuss. The pencils leave quite a dark line, but it's incredibly smooth, even with a needle fine point, no scratching or snagging. Everyone who saw the box (they were delivered to my work) & heard the tale mocked me until they tried em where upon they mostly changed their minds & wanted to keep it! This is the reason I only have 6 left.Best wooden pencils I've ever interacted with. I much prefer writing with a pencil, I normally use a mechanical pencil, but these things have reminded me of the other reasons pencils kick ass.Epic work tombow 5/5

Great pencils!
I heard good things about japanese pencils, and in fact, these turned out to be great pencils.First, they produce a very nice, darker line, easy to scan; their lead feels really smooth, the pencils literally glide over paper. After sharpening they keep a good point - longer than other hi-quality pencils, despite the soft grade (mine are 2B) allowing precise detailed drawings. Also very important: these are easy to sharpen and mine NEVER BREAK while sharpening. Their wooden case are excellent and I didn't waste a mm of lead.Of course these cost more than other quality pencils, but the product is clearly superior.Recommended for any illustrator, animator or comic creator!Tombow Mono 100 2B Pencils (Box of 12)

The best.
At first I thought it was ridiculous to pay a lot of money for a graphite pencil - after all a pencil is just a pencil, isn't it? How wrong I was !As a professional artist I always use good quality materials, having learned not to add to my daily problem of arm-wrestling with the muse by having a extra battle with hard to use stuff. So I was using a variety of pencils from Derwent, Faber-Castell and Conte and was reasonably satisfied with them. But I became intrigued with the rave reviews of the Tombow mono 100 2b and bought a box. What a revelation. Not only do they sharpen to a long point without breaking but they also hold that point for an amazingly long time, which cuts out all the frequent, messy processes of re-pointing and sharpening I was accustomed to. Also the quality of the mark making is superb. I can go from light marks to intense blacks with the one pencil which glides across the surface and does not seem to smudge either. There is only one downside. Every time I try to use one of my previous favourites it feels gritty or wears down too fast or refuses to lay down anything except a dark grey mark so I have to return to a Tombow with a sigh of relief. So I am addicted and I have just bowed to the inevitable and ordered a second box of the best graphite pencils I have ever used.

This pencil is great to draw with
This pencil is great to draw with, it sharpens well, rubs out well and is slow to wear down. I can get good shading variation with it. The finish of the pencil is good too. The difference between this and Steadtler Tradition pencils for instance is night and day. The plastic box these pencils come in looks good and keeps the pencils separate within the box so that they don't rub together and damage the finish. This is a top quality B pencil. The other pencils in the Tombow Mono 100 range are good too.

The Ultimate HB Pencil!
This is simply the best HB pencil made. Silky smooth and a dark shade. The Tombow Mono 100 is a legend, especially in the animation field and after using one you will not be disappointed. If you are a pencil geek, this is the one to get!

Best pencils in the world
I draw using these everyday and they are the best of any by far. Even better than the excellent Palemino Blackwing. They come in a hard plastic case so the only improvement I’d suggest is to make this packaging from a material that can be easily recycled.

Don’t last long but look good!
These pencils look great but they are too soft so you have to keep sharpening them which is annoying if you use them to do a lot of writing.

Excellent value and great feel
I don't write many reviews and was a little sceptical that these pencils would be and better than your standard HB's you can get anywhere. I was wrong. They are a quality product. Great feel on the paper for sketching and shading. I love them. The lovely box is a bonus. Highly recommend giving them a try.
