🚨💧 THE LITTLE SILVER POUCH THAT STARES DEHYDRATION IN THE FACE 💧🚨
This is not “water.” This is hope, sealed in foil. The SOS Food Lab 78804 Emergency Drinking Water Pouch doesn’t pretend to be fancy, refreshing, or Instagrammable. It exists for one purpose only: to keep you alive when everything else has gone sideways. And it does that job with cold, minimalist confidence. You tear it open and immediately understand the vibe. No flavor notes. No alpine spring fantasy. Just clean, potable water that says, “Drink me. Continue the mission.” At 125 mL, it’s perfectly rationed — small enough to stash everywhere (car, go-bag, emergency kit, backpack, glove compartment), yet meaningful enough to matter when it counts. This is survival math, not luxury dining. What really elevates this pouch is the engineering mindset behind it. Long shelf life. Rugged packaging. Zero nonsense. It doesn’t leak, doesn’t care about temperature swings, and doesn’t ask questions. Flood? Earthquake? Power outage? Zombie apocalypse? This pouch is already calm while everyone else is panicking. And yes — under normal circumstances, you will never crave this water. That’s the point. This is not water you want. This is water you’re grateful exists. Verdict: The SOS Emergency Drinking Water Pouch is the quiet hero of preparedness. It won’t win taste tests or social media clout — but when the moment comes, it wins the only test that matters.

If you only need a few, this is the cheapest location to buy them.
Purchasing these for 42 cents each, including shipping, is an amazing deal. The regular price for water pouches (even in large lots) is outrageous because water is heavy. I looked around for a long time and found that these are as cheap as I can find them. If you need a handful for an emergency kit, this is the way to go. Looks like solid, heavy duty packaging. Good seal. Pack date 02/2022 Purchase date 06/2023 Expiration date 02/2027 (3 years and 8 months after purchase) I'm not terribly concerned about the shortened expiration date. These will likely be useful in an emergency for many years beyond that date. Pretty much the only things that can kill these will be the delamination or puncture of the packaging. If it is left to sit for decades, the water may taste like plastic. If it's really an emergency, you won't care. This is intended as a long-term emergency supply, and it does that job well. I think I'm going to try to freeze one and see how durable it is. I will edit this comment if it breaks or delaminates.

Water Pouches
Received pouches with only 4 years instead of 5 years left until expiration.

Freezing and dates
I bought these for a car survival kit. I live in upstate New York where the temperatures are below freezing for much of the year. I was worried these might rupture on freezing as I found nothing about freezing in the product information. Other similar products that are rated to -40 degrees are much more expensive. So I bought some and put one in the freezer until it froze solid. When I thawed it and there was no leakage, so I think they will work for my application. I ordered mine on April 2 2024. The dates on the packages I received were 1/24 and 1/29, which I assume are the manufacturer and good until dates respectively. So not much of the shelf life was used up when I received them. Bonus! I ordered 50 and they came loose in a big cardboard box along with some other items ordered at the same time. There was no apparent damage, but I'd expected a large order like this would have been packed more securely. All in all I'm happy with the purchase, they are relatively inexpensive, appear to survive freezing without rupturing, and they are recently manufactured. Should work well for my car emergency kit.

It's water!
I purchased this at less than $1 to use as a mini-gift for my husband. Like a "thinking of you" package delivery in a hotel while he was on a business trip. He was pretty darn confused, but said the water was appropriately wet and tasted decent. So, if you need packaged water, go for it!
