Surprisingly nice kit
I had my doubts, but this turned out to be a surprisingly nice kit and a remarkable value. The laser-cut wooden pieces fit very well, and the brass parts are beautiful. There are a few instructions in Chinese, but the assembly diagrams are clear and self-explanatory. I may even buy a second one.

Very inferior quality
This product is of very inferior quality. The laser cut parts are primarily from very thin sheets and so fragile that they brake easily. The instruction sheets are difficult to understand and provide very little guidance. Many of the parts to be assembled are so small that they are almost impossible to build. I would not recommend this model to even the most experienced builders. Do not purchase this item!

Surprisingly good
Great design. Not a beginner kit. Instructions could be better. Needs full size scale plans.

Better than expected.
TLDR; (better than you'd think but if you've never modeled before build a tank or car or something then come back to this.) The package it shipped in did not inspire confidence, however the contents did not suffer any damages in transit. This is one of the cheapest kits I could find and it being my first model ship and not wanting to ruin a more expensive ship with my lack of knowledge and experience, it seemed a good trade off. This kit is better than I thought it would be for the price the parts and wood are of good quality and this kit comes with some extras like brass cannon and metal anchors. It is however lacking in some areas, Instructions are in Chinese but with pictures. You can follow along in most areas with no problems if you have built a model before. The instructions for decking the hull are non existent and the rigging are insufficient to put it kindly. Those problems can be bypassed though with quick google or youtube searches, so to close I would say the kit is better than the price would suggest but may be beyond a first Model. Maybe a third.

Not for beginners
Product is not for beginners, instructions are not specific on how to assemble it correctly. Wood is too fragile and not all parts are precision cut to fit correctly

You have to be better then good!
I have perfect vision but I feel too blind to pull 108 strings from bottom to the top in sails. Its 108. I cannot do sails. For the man that can, I am impressed!

Flimsy wood, no-fun build
Naw, this one's terrible. Flimsy pieces, attached to their housing at poor places. Insufficient instruction. Requirements to bend this already dainty wood. Hull pieces were terrible. I've been doing a lot of these ship builds lately and this has been far and away the worst kit.

If bored with regular car, plane, spaceship models buy this!
All NEGATIVE reviews are just lazy and not ready to advance model building skill level. I started out with snap togethers, then glue, then glue decals and painting. I got my first paint kit and exacto knife. And did box model building for 15 yrs. Now I'm looking at bigger more detailed models. First boat USS Arizona, then a ship in a bottle. After ship in a bottle I wanted more,a whole ship with sails. It took some time to choose,I to read reviews to make decisions on purchasing a model. Because builders are honest about models we build and know how frustrating it is to expect something then when you get it and open it,it's all different and instructions are minimal. This sailship is challenging, instructions are all there and understandable; page 1 building hull, all parts are labeled and even shows finished assembly for each part your building. If you've built more than one model, especially a ship model. You'll be fine with purchasing and building this one. I'm just in the early part of this one and having a great time. I can't wait to see how it looks when I'm done. I've never worked with cloth sails ,so I'm a bit nervous and excited bout that. Maybe when I'm done I'll post pictures. I forget alot so we'll see. All pieces were packaged well and undamaged,I say buy it everything's there instructions are fine. Have a good one, everyone and Happy building!
