Just as good as the name brand antenna
Bought this instead of the midland antenna and it works the exact same. I did a test with the midland ghost antenna and this antenna on the same tractor and the range was nearly the exact same. At a fraction of the cost of the name brand antenna. Id estimate 3 miles over hills trees and woods from tractor to truck.

Surprising Range, Great SWR!
This antenna is perfect for tossing on a roof mount if you don't want a massive whip up there. I honestly got this for daily use without worrying about smacking my antenna on trees as we head into winter.Little did I know this would become my preferred daily antenna. I really only use my whip antenna for really reaching out or if I'm transmitting outside the VHF/UHF ham bands. Inside the VHF/UHF ham bands I measured 1.3 and 1.6 SWR respectively. Getting up into GMRS it peaked at 1.8 SWR but that's still decent for the price.Great little antenna. I'm interested to see how it holds up to road salt and other winter nonsense.

Defective DOA item. Nothing worked in testing.
Item came defective and did not work for me. I read the reviews and it seems these are hit or miss. My item came and appeared like it had already been used it had some minor scuffing that made it look like it had been used and possibly returned. Box was sealed up though like new. Tested and mounted and tried everything. Primarily the GMRS didnt pick up a single thing. Not even when there was stuff going on the airwaves it didnt pick up a single thing. I retested to be sure with trying a baofeng and some basic FM stations and it didnt pick up anything either. Thankfully the return process is easy. These are great when they work from my understanding. I just so happened to get a DOA or dud.

Small But Terrible!
Small but terrible. Using this with my 20-watt mobile, I could talk to my 50-watt base up to about 10 miles while on my 5-watt handheld, about 5 miles. Btw, I live in a valley and canyon with mountains all around.

Great Performing antenna for amateur radio
This antenna works great. Performs as well as the 18" or 36" gain antennas. Don't have to remove for the car wash.
