Microsoft Xbox Black Wireless Controller, with Cable for Windows PC

I purchased this as I had been using a wired XB 360 controller for many years, and I felt it was time to upgrade to an XB One controller--while deciding to go wireless. I have a stockpile of rechargeable AA batteries on-hand, and will only see myself using the cable for configuring and/or firmware updates.When I initially bought this, I kept getting asked to enter PIN when trying to pair it with my PC. Turns out, after doing some digging, that you really need a Bluetooth 4.0 dongle. I was using a cheap-o dongle that I bought from a well-known discount/variety shop that sells everything for £1, maybe 6 years or more ago, and was/is likely Bluetooth 2.0. I ended up ordering, and recommend Mpow Bluetooth 4.0 USB Dongle Adapter, Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver Supports Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista XP 32/64 Bit Laptop PC for Bluetooth Speaker, Headset, Keyboard, Mouse and More, Plug and Play. My review should show up there too. But hey, thanks to Amazon Prime 1-day delivery, I didn't have to wait that long.After finally getting it paired up with new dongle and no issues, ready to go--I did a few runs with "Mass Effect: Andromeda", "Assassin's Creed: Origins", "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty" (with the controller fix, and a few patches), "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Edition". I've also tried out a few other games with the key mapping software Padstarr, with the success being good.The feeling, layout, and tactile response is a dream in comparison to the Xbox 360 controller, in my opinion. I haven't experienced any noticeable latency while playing games thus far.I only ask myself "why didn't I get this sooner?".

Xbox controllers have been my go-to for a few years now. Works with everything. Comfortable to use for hours. Feels great in the hands. Just plug it in and go. Lasts for years of punishment. I appreciate Microsoft for bringing their console controllers to the PC, and raising the bar in this area.

Bought in 2018.In regular use until May the first 2025.The LB button has just died forcing me into the cost of a replacement controller.Used this to play many big games over 7 years so reliability has been good until it wasn't.Hope I get as much longevity from the new I ordered on 1st May 2025.This has been a good controller, reason why I'm sticking with the the same for a replacement.Ergonomically sound.

Wired, this thing is great for my Windows 10 PC, just the level of sensitivity I like for racing games. When I put some batteries in and paired it over Bluetooth however, it was a real pain to get it to reconnect after powering the controller down and back up again, having to go through the repairing process almost every time.It's not a dealbreaker, it's just slightly poor software support!

Does what it says on the tin. Official controller, nice long lead that connects directly to a USB 2.0 / 3.0+ port. Can be used in all Windows 10 games that I have came across so far! Well made, great product.

Good quality product so 5 stars but it is a typically overpriced product from Microsoft. I would buy cheaper if I knew the quality was as good as this one (which it probably is).

I am leaving this review in the hope that it will help with confusion.If you are concerned that this controller is wireless and the cable like the old X360 controller play and charge kits only charge the battery. Don't be.This controller works on the PC without any batteries and just like a standard fused wired controller. You plug it in and it just works. Perfect with Windows 10.You also have the option of putting in batteries and connecting it up via Bluetooth if you do want wireless.The controller was delivered in perfect condition and on time.The controller works and feels perfect and you will not be disappointed in your purchase.

Lasted all of a week until decided not to connect wirelessly, good job bought insurance with it!!
