20cm Lampshade Kit

A really easy to use kit . Good quality and the finished product looks great ! I ve bought several more since completing my first lampshade

This is a well thought through kit, with excellent instructions. There is also a video but I didn't view this and I wish I had. It's all quite precise to make and there are several 'Gotcha' points in the construction which you need to get spot on or you could ruin the kit, and your day. The first is to choose your material wisely. I didn't and chose one with almost an embroidered pattern in places. This caused two problems. It frayed badly when cut (and I used a new blade) and it was too bulky to tuck under the rim, the final part of the process. So the end result, whilst OK, is a bit wragged. The second is to iron the material to get rid of creases and take great care attaching it to the backing material. Any creases at this stage will be very difficult to get out. Also get help when offering the cover up to the two hoops. It makes a world of difference to trying to do it all on your own. All this, of course, is clearly indicated in the excellent and methodical instructions. So it's worth reading them once, twice, three times before you cut or stick anything! The temptation is to just crack on. I did find the provided plastic tool to push the material under the rim very flimsy and a bit useless, but it would probably have been OK should I have chosen a thinner material. My three takeaways would be: Chose your material with construction of the lamp, as well as pattern in mind. Read and digest the instructions carefully. And then do this stage again. And finally, where it suggests you get the help of a friend, do it!

This is a brilliant kit for making your own lampshade. The instructions are clear and they have YouTube videos as well! I found it really easy to make our own lampshade and the finished piece looks amazing.

Great kit, contains everything needed except fabric/paper. Quite fiddly, although am sure would be less so with practice. Was easier with two pairs of hands, especially with a toddler who wanted to help lol. Daughter very pleased with handmade lampshades and there was enough tape left to stick funky pompom trim around the bottom edge

I bought this lampshade kit because I had fabric that I wanted to make in to a shade but I had never made one before. The instructions were very easy to follow, all the materials ( other than the fabric) is included in the box. Loads of fun to make. I’ve looked for materials to make another shade but may just buy another kit because they are good value for money without the waste. I’m very pleased how it turned out, great quality and looks great even for a first timer!

My nephew wanted a Dr Who lamp for his themed bedroom for Christmas. I looked in every single shop I could think of and also online but couldn't find one - not even a lampshade. I came across this kit on Amazon and thought I would give it a go. I bought some material from Ebay (Dr Who material is also hard to come by!)and a lamp base and set about to make my lampshade. I've just finished it and can't believe how good it looks - there is really no difference between mine and a shop-bought one. The kit was easy to use, if a little fiddly and as I said the finished shade is fantastic. I have uploaded a pic to the images section so you can see it. I must mention I am, in no way, artistic and if I can make a lampshade anyone can!

This is the first lampshade I made. The instructions are easy to follow and the result is stunning! Using this kit, I turned an old dress into a stylish lampshade. Happy memories are permanently preserved on the lampshade by the bedside. Finding the perfect lamp shade that matches your interior is hard, while finding the fabric that matches the interior is much easier. I'm probably not going to buy a ready made lampshade on the high street ever again. When you buy a ready made lampshade, there is a warning label on the maximum wattage of the light bulb. When you make one yourself, you need to decide yourself what wattage is safe. I think this depends on the diameter of the shade, and how delicate the fabric is. The shade could be toasted if the wattage of the bulb is too high. I used an 11w low energy light bulb for the 20cm lampshade. The shade doesn't feel warm, and the lamp is bright enough.

Plutôt facile à monter, attention la notice est en anglais. Bon il faut admettre que les finitions intérieures ne sont pas "top" car il n'y a pas beaucoup de place pour rentrer le tissu mais dans l'ensemble cela donne un abat jour sympa. En en confectionnant plusieurs on acquiert de petits trucs pour améliorer sa technique. Et puis c'est une réalisation personnelle donc unique....

Der Bausatz war super schnell da und z.b Klebeband war mehr als nötig dabei. Die Anleitung war nicht auf Deutsch was mich nicht gestört hat da man die Schritte auf Bildern perfekt erkennt ansonsten kann man es auch übersetzen. Der Baumwollstoff sollte nicht zu dick sein und faltenfrei gebügelt. Im Prinzip muss der Stoff nur auf die Folie geklebt werden danach wird das Klebeband auf die Ringe geklebt (beachten wo unten und oben ist). Jetzt werden die Ringe mit der beklebten Folie verbunden (beim drauf rollen wäre es besser zu zweit zu sein damit es gerade wird) und der überschüssige Stoff wird mit dem Spachtel hinter die Ringe gedrückt (vorsichtig und langsam) . Wirklich viel einfacher als gedacht und ein super Produkt. Werde jetzt alle Lampenschirme selbst machen.

Articolo ben riuscito, facile da realizzare con spiegazioni nei minimi dettagli. Si puo sar sfogo alla propria fantasia utlizzando materiali propri.

Un poco caro para mí gusto, además de que falta una pieza: espátula para ajustar la tela. Hay tiendas de patchwork en España que venden on line el material suelto y te sale mucho mejor, los ingleses se han cubierto de gloria con el Brexit.
